Thansettakij reported that Thailand's immigration bureau had flatly denied that any tourist's data was compromised in a recently reported case.

Comparitech in the UK said that 106 million visitors to Thailand had had their data compromised over the last ten years.

Things like names and surnames, dates of birth and passport numbers were involved.

The IB said that their systems were completely secure and that they work with the DES ministry to ensure that.

The IB added that their Thai brothers and sisters and foreign visitors could be completely confident in them.

They included a handy phone number to call - 1178 - if any foreigners are misbehaving and threatening Thailand's security.

Deny, deny, and deny some more, that's about the only thing they CAN do now, but they know the truth...

They probably got a good offer to let someone in. Everything is potentially for sale at a price it would seem from all the other RTP and judicial related incidents.

Please, how would it be to concentrate on the problem at hand, instead of hearing different authorities screaming it wasn´t me!

Reminds me about a teacher asking who in the class put garlic capsules under the stool? Of course the one who did it was the first one to create the chorus line of "It wasn´t me!".

So deny it happened, then suggest that even if it did, it would be the fault of evil foreigners because Thai people would never do such a thing?  Classy.

Safe as houses ...  ???? I used to get pieces of paper from immigration for next 90 day report,

where they had recycled peoples photo copies ,with photo ,full details on the other side.

I’m completely confident that they are being less than honest about this data breach.

Yes, a few years ago I commented on that very fact to a friend of mine when we were getting our retirement extensions, and on one of them I had the details of a German national, which astounded me!

It seems as if they have stopped this practice now, and not before time.

Immigration say their systems are secure

"We asked our BMW Smart Cars about our system and they replied with a Thumbs Up," said an unnamed source.

QueQ works well- don't know if its been hacked?

Cute how they deflect at the end with the ‘handy’ number to report foreigners. I see the kids haven’t quite grown up yet.

I wonder if someone could hack the 90 reporting site and get it to work?

Thats reassuring.

DES also works on the health apps for immunization that were breached recently.

An audit is in order.

Somebody keeps dropping the ball.

Well they've just stolen the hackers 'bragging rights' here by accusing them of lying.

I've seen what happens in the past when this situation presents itself - tens of GB of data usually ends up being published.

Not Immigration. They use paper forms.

Who else has such a big database?
