Yes the dog attacked , but the owner should take responsibility for the animal.

So kill the owner?  Nah, just get rid of the dangerous dog.  No rehabilitation is going to happen in Thailand.  Either they kill it or it keeps on attacking children.

I disagree....    these issues exist and repeatedly occur because they are not handled correctly and firmly without compromise.    ALL dogs should have a collar identifying the owner respons

Why blame the dog? Yes the dog attacked , but the owner should take responsibility for the animal. plus people said the dog had bitten before, so why didn't they do or say something? easy after the event to place blame on the animal when it's the humans who really cause the problem.

silly comment .... the owner knew about the dog biting kids.

Blame the dog ... yes .  Blame the owner also for being an irresponsible a_rse hole.

shoot the dog, then fine the owner 20k baht,    then maybe he'll understand how stupid and careless he is.

This statement says heaps about what the owner is like :

The son of the owner of the dog - who appears to have left it there for years while he works at another of the companies camps - arrived to give the little girl a paltry 500 baht.

The owner refused to accept any responsibility saying the dog was not his problem after leaving it there for 5-6 years.

And there, in a sentence, we have it!

Put them down.

Eradication is needed.

Owners fined.

Compulsory microchips.

Owners too.

No human has more worth than any other living being.

That little phrase can save the world !

Need to respect and help every living being . We are all , not only us , the humans , part of an ecosystem that is designed to enable us to live longer and further evolve as a species .

But this , of course , will not be the case if we destroy it first . The consequences of continued destruction of our ' own ' ecosystems will not be nice . For nobody .

Need to immediately stop pollution by fossile fuels NOW .

Should have been done 20 yrs ago already .

Yes, I agree. Read more about this in my book The Icarus Syndrome. You can find more details about it and either buy it or download it for free at:

Seems to be the extent of responsibility , a Dr. along our soi ,4 dogs

just lets them out, they have bitten several people, the Postman

refuses to come here, after they caused him to fall off his motorbike,

paid 500 Thb  even though some people had the expense of Rabies shots.

regards Woreordie

If the owners don't/won't take responsibility, I'm told paraquat is a useful backup.

In this case, if the dog attacked the child unprovoked, then yes, the dog should have to face consequences, maybe even euthanasia if it were found to be a serial offender or this single attack was very savage. But, if the  child attacked the dog unprovoked, then he too should have to face the same set of consequences.

That's why I added "people" to the suggestion in the original post.

That is a very dangerous position to take - and an insanely stupid one.

I'm sorry you think that way. That is hubris, and, to me, shows you're part the problem we're facing concerning our continuing destruction of the Earth's environment. Read my book

How is it a silly comment. When you admit yourself that the owner new the dog had bitten people in the past. SO WHY SHOULDN"T THE OWNER TAKE RESPONSIBILIY? , Shoot the dog... easy way out.
