Rumors that Chatchai Phromlert was poised to enter politics were circulating long before his mandatory retirement as Interior Ministry permanent secretary last week. Media reports outlined three possibilities for Chatchai after retirement – being appointed as a deputy interior minister, becoming the seventh deputy prime minister, and setting up a new political party. New party in the making? On his final day in office last Thursday (September 30), Chatchai dismissed reports that he was involved in a party being formed to back General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s bid for another term as prime minister. Popular Post HaoleBoy
Why do all these OLD Thai males think they have all the answers to run Thailand? Same around the world these days it seems ... OLD (white in many circumstances) males thinking they are the only ones that can do anything. Good leaders would have groomed a younger person as they ascended and allow a younger person to take over. The future is for the younger generations! 6
Popular Post smedly
he will have no problem getting into government elected or not, he will just be appointed a senior position like the rest - democracy Thai style - vote in an election for who you want to run the country then get leaders you never voted for appointed anyway

Dogmatix
PPRP has just announced it will nominate Prayut for the next election. Perhaps this guy can set up another party to nominate him. Being the nominee of several parties should increase his chances.

Agree 100% get younger people in office as President etc. with ideas and the vitality to make changes for the good of the country no matter what party ... changes should be for the good of the people and future generations not about party... a prime example some if us older guys (67) barely get past the first page before the bickering starts..

Dumbfounded
If any party runs on the platform that no minister in the current govt will be nominated by them they would win in a landslide in the next election, unless it takes 5 months to change count the votes
