To the moderators: Nothing to worry about, we are just discussing the details of the looming Blitzkrieg attack on Thaivisa. One of us traced the headoffice on the internet. Johann informed me that there is no board rule to exclude German language. So, som nam na....selber Schuld... Limbo
Bluecat
alle Deutsche hier in Thailand sprechen englisch. Good for them. So I think they should post in English. No offence but we have many, many nationalities on this forum. And whether you(I) like it or not, English is stil the best understood language in the developed world. Fair or not fair. I do not really care. This is the way it is,...
joinme2leave
Yohan I do not think it is a minor (german native talking) group but i agree with 'opalhort' but we should respect that there can ONLY be ONE GOOD forum for expats. and - in my honor opinion - this is thaivisa.com, definitely. Besides, talking english is the best way to communicate in asia so who-the-f..k cares about german or danish or italian...? wolfi, AUSTRIA (noch, aber nicht mehr lange)

Yohan
Besides, talking english is the best way to communicate in asia I agree and I said the same as you at various occasions at this forum, asking however the English native speakers (I think, they are by far the majority) to be more tolerant against the postings of the non-native English speakers, especially regarding the way of expression, the style and grammar errors. Not every person accepts the American way of life. This German speaking thread was not started by me, by the way. I am however astonished, that not even 15 native German speakers are showing up to post 1 or 2 lines to say Hallo! Is there any statistic to show how many foreigners, divided in nationality, are really LIVING in Thailand (besides the usual tourists on a 30 days stamp)? joinme2leave
there sure are statistics available but likely not to be found in this forum. i guess quite difficult to find out unless attaining information from immigration offices or similar. not even 15 postings? imho, that is reasonable good quote if u consider that most of german native speaking expats seem to have problems to express themselves in other languages. or they are just lazy (concentrating on *MWD* (Money*Women*Drinking)? or they are afraid of grammar/style mistakes as you mentioned correctly? whatever, i don't care much. feeling more comfortable not having to talk german, helps me to improve my english day by day ( but maybe I should concentrate more on my thai soon ) Yohan, feel free to communicate with me in english. If you have something to talk or ask in german, simply pm me, null problemo.
