Beaches And Restaurants

Featured Replies

My Thai family and I will be making a rare one week stay in Pattaya soon.

Although we will be staying at Chateau Dale in Jomtien,,,I would like to take the folks further down the coast towards Sattahip for days out.

I would really like to make their time a memorable one .My father in law has never seen the sea before.

Any reccomendations of beaches and seafood restaurants ,would be greatly appreciated .

Many Thanks

Last time had a swim in the sea at Jomtien , I was attacked by a swollen pamper,,,,lovely.

There is a nice restaurant at Sunset Beach which is part of a resort but you can go there for a meal no problem. There is 1 resort there called Sunset Park and 1 called Sunset Village, I cant remember which 1 I went to but they both have restaurants on the beach I think. As the name implies you get a great view of the sunset so best to be there at that time.

Sunset beach is about halfway between Pattaya and Sattahip I'd say, about 20 mins south down the Sukhumvit.

Thanks for that.

For Thais, I would recommend a seafood restaurant called Srinuan at Ban Amphur which is on the way from Jomtien to Sattahip. Very tasty. You can also ask for a 10% discount.

I would certainly second a visit to Ban Amphoe....although I usually eat at Preecha.....there are several seafood restaurants there alll much better than anything in Pattaya....and a bit cheaper too.

For Beaches there is Ban Amphoe beach or a bit further go on to Ban Sare...realy quite a nice beach, very popular with Thais on w/es hols etc...as are the seafood restaurants at Ban Amphoe.

Further on just past Sattahip is the beautiful beach run by the navy...you have to go through a checkpoint.

If you get a map out you will see there's actually quite a few beaches in that direction. South Rayong has quite a good beach, North beach has a lot of fish drying going on but a great seafood restaurant at the end overlooking the estuary and fishing fleet.

Dont know if things have changed but about 2 years ago I drove down to Sattahip with my GF and her Mother and we were stopped at the checkpoint, told that Farang are persona non grata and turned away.

Dont forget while your in the area between Jomtien and Sattahip to pay a visit to the Buddha mountain.

Personally I prefer to drive a bit further and go Rayong.
