It's those migrant laborers again. Not one single Thai person was involved. They cooked up the whole scheme. They systematically began collecting millions of used gloves. They somehow established facilities to wash and "restore" them. They warehoused the millions of "restored" gloves. They packed them, filled out export and customs documentation. They contracted logistics companies and arranged for shipping containers. They also handled the invoicing and established bank accounts to receive payment. Quite crafty people, those migrant laborers. 2 2

Tens of millions of filthy, used medical gloves imported into the US https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/24/health/medical-gloves-us-thailand-investigation-cmd-intl/index.html To all the Thai bashers commenting here... The CNN article ^^^ clearly states that the warehouse was Rented to a HONG KONG company!! Quote "The Thai FDA arrested the owner of the warehouse but was unable to bring charges against the tenant -- a Hong Kong resident, according to the Thai FDA." They will not sell these openly to Thais as that would bring the law against them for hurting Thais. If you look at most things here you never see people copying anything Thai as that would lead to Thai courts. Examples are/were plenty at Khaosan Road. You can/could buy a university degree to almost any university in the world except a Thai university, Same with ID cards. An interesting point to all this is that the Ziskin that is mentioned spent 12 years in Prison in the states for being smuggling ecstasy in the the U.S, so he should of been more aware. Also have to wonder why it took the FDA and HS in the states to act on things. You would have thought that they would have blacklisted Thai companies form shipping/selling PPE. Any time that there is a huge demand for something people will find a way to make money from it. Not just in LOS but any part of the world.

A couple of years ago, Thailand openly marketed itself to Chinese companies as a place to "relocate" to in order to avoid US tariffs and exclusion lists. For that and things such as this glove scandal, the US should put a trade embargo on Thailand until the country can verify to the standards of the US that is no longer engaged in fraud. Would be a good time to clean up on IP theft as well.

You have the image you have, yes it's sleazy but it brings in money, be content with what you have. You will never be a high class destination for rich families or a center for trusted business enterprises because your courts of law cant be trusted. You are trying to enter the first world with a third world mind set, your politicians are no different from those of the first world, power hungry, greedy and self serving but unlike the first world your citizens have been taught through example to be corrupt and void of moral considerations which leaves you with a civil service which is fearful and immoral and so cant act as an unbiased counterweight to the self serving desires of your political masters. You aren't lost my dear Thailand, you just have to realize what you really are and face the world unashamedly, your amorality can be quite charming in fact, holding out one hand for the bribe and then the other one saying OK that was the bribe now where is the the baksheesh, you will always keep us smiling but don't expect us to take you seriously.
