THAI QR PAYMENT possible without a Thai Bank account

Featured Replies

Is it possible to use the QR code payment system with a prepaid account or in connection with a creditcards? Thanks!

Should be able to use an overseas bank account if you set it up to do mobile banking. But you might get charged international transfer fees. Maybe some crypto exchanges can do it?

You can use the TrueMoney app to make QR code payments. However, if you can meet their new requirements for registration, you could just as well open a Thai bank account.

Thanks a lot for pointing this out Caldera! I would mainly use the wallet for small sums. Apparently "foreigners" can register with passport and then link their creditcard. Has anyone used it this way?

Not sure if I want to monitor another bank account just for some small payments, but maybe I open one in Thailand. So does Bangkok Bank offer a free one, or which bank should I choose in case i wont find a prepaid app.

That app has reviews describing a bizarre process for how it works.

Apparently you have to do a Wise transfer to some Thai guy, who then pays your bill from his Thai bank account.
