Just a thought but I wonder how many tea totallers have been infected by the bug and how many have died. we only have the Governments view that alcohol plays a part in this pseudo pandemic and can someone tell me how you can be at risk in a beer bar but not in coffee shop or tea bar, show me the evidence.

Is it any wonder that things are in such disarray when you have an egocentric moron, dislocating his shoulder to pat himself on the back, when in truth all he has brought about is disaster?

  • One can only laugh at this   what was the predicted number for Nov - I recall it was over 1m, official number is 50k so far and likely many of those are not actually tourists   del

There is and has been an agenda against alcohol for a while now. To what end I cannot say but there's definitely an agenda.

He and his gang are weak but they want to have access to the money pots as long as possible. The support in the population is no longer there and has clearly shrunk. The whole policy is geared towards not tolerating any gatherings of critical people. And since Alkehol is known to loosen up the tongue and people then often speak in a more restrained (critical) manner, it is restricted by those in power. And Covid is increasingly becoming a pretext to prevent the dissatisfied from demonstrating.

Or maybe a load of drunks shouting and spluttering at each other can spread a few more cases around.

Just sayin'.

PS.

I like a beer as much as the next guy.

I think it is very likely that it is the intention, probably not for him but for those he is "beholden to".

Makes a lot of sense to utter no’sence, imagine if at the end of the high season bars etc are still closed they could all be picked up cheap, Pattaya the whole of  walking street for for the price of a condo, very cheap compulsory purchase indeed.

Posted to Facebook, so that people around the world - like my oldest friend in the UK - isn't fooled by the Thailand Is Open campaign.

Probably extending the ban to Chinese New Year, to be announced mid January

But you do know he's Shino-Thai.

Delaying the bar until mid Jan makes no sense. Most tourists actually go there.

The cleansing of Thailand.

No sex

No booze

Limiting the supply of cigarettes.

An example for the world to follow.

From memory didn't this all start from a group of idiots sharing their drinks and smokes with each other in a bar like a couple of years ago

Correct me if I am wrong

Alcohol kills the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Does he want the pandemic to continue?

Got that right " Self Promotion mode " put in place by me!  Don't be selfish!  What is for sure whenever he takes a photo ops no matter how much time goes by his Hair is always jetblack!  maybe some of that cancerous dye will kick in soon!

Most will say it all started in a lab' somewhere.

Wow! Just Wow! Thailand will be open in 120 days. Must save tourism and jobs. We all remember Mr. Empty Head saying this. Seems not. In his own words. What a complete tosser. Psuedo open just like pseudo lockdown.

Well it wasn't here a couple of years ago. Seems like it was in China a couple of years ago though, maybe more. They didn't tell anyone and let it spread. Big thanks to the CCP. Absolutely nothing will happen to these global criminals.

Certainly. A country leader without any future visions for his people. From a sociopolitical point of view, the backward trend since 7 Years towards medieval conditions is unmistakable.

Backward is the right word. Backward education, backward institutions, backward government....and I fear it's getting worse. In nearly 40 years I have never been as depressed as I am today with what is going on here.

No. Us tourists are not delighted because we have stayed at home or gone elsewhere in our 10’s of thousands Kuhn PM.

Taking a tip from his book I said to myself "I'm so smart I make myself sick"

I waited ten seconds yet felt no compulsion to run out and buy an 'I love Einstein' Tee-shirt.....????

Confused. Are they opening on 16 January or not?

self-praise mode.

Why do so many autocratic leaders have such a huge ego, and such a pathological need for praise, even if it comes from themselves? I really don’t understand how the minds of these people works, they seem to live in a ‘reality’ that is completely detached from the real world. And yet countless brainless fools believe every word they say and follow them like lemmings off a cliff.

A friend reported how quickly he was recently processed through Suvarnabhumi Airport upon landing. He put it down to there being very few other travelers at the airport.

There's more to life on holiday than booze in bars and what the pimps have on offer surely? Does the country really want to risk more infections just to cater for those sorts of visitors, I think not.

There is a far greater chance of getting a viral infection from an un-vaccinated Thai than from a tourist who is fully vaccinated and tested before they even enter Thailand.

BTW it doesn't really matter what you or I or any other farangs think, it is what the Great Panjandrum and his puppet master think and want. They take no notice of their own people, let alone us.

There may be more to your life than booze in bars and what the pimps have on offer surely, but you are not everybody, and people have different tastes on holiday.

For me, temples and being on the beach all are two of the most boring things to do.

Having said that I am 77 and I have been living and working in Thailand much of the time since 1993.

It is worrying indeed. Never in the recent past has the military made a coup and has secured power / government position for so long, already since 7 years.

At first, the majority were happy that the bloody fights between red and yellow had ended.

Slowly the majority of Thais notices that democracy has been systematically dismantled over the years, critics are locked away, the opposition has been silenced with all tricks, press censorship, assembly bans,

Police are increasingly armed with anti-riot gear, for the majority the economic situation has deteriorated, corruption continues, only now has a different color and nepotism still prevails. The socio-political situation in Thailand is now a mix of Burma, China and Cambodia.

Many has called the devil to drive out the Beltzebub. But now they can't get rid of him. Will there still be free and fair elections next year?

Oh my, golly gosh, gee whiz...I am beside myself with awe and amazement at his Grand Presence and can't wait for more of his shining and wise utterances....but now, the last dose of crack I took is wearing off; so time for another to maintain this precious vibe His Excellence exudes...

"Then he went into standard positivity and self-praise mode"

Spoiler alert, " HE HASN'T BEEN OUT OF IT"

An absolute disgrace, the verbal diarrhea that he spews is mind blowing!
