Is it any wonder that things are in such disarray when you have an egocentric moron, dislocating his shoulder to pat himself on the back, when in truth all he has brought about is disaster?

  • One can only laugh at this   what was the predicted number for Nov - I recall it was over 1m, official number is 50k so far and likely many of those are not actually tourists   del

Obviously our "Lord & Master along with the CCSA are way out of touch.

The BIB & many bars have "come to an arrangement" to allow the former to pay the HP on the pick up  & the latter to at least pay some bar staff, rent along with giving the working girls a chance.

It is called taking matters into your own hands

I have a feeling there is a struggle of power with some rich families owning ThaiBev,

not looking good for the future, I am sure "someone" is preparing "something"

and where are the red shirts when you need them? ????

There's more to life on holiday than booze in bars and what the pimps have on offer surely? Does the country really want to risk more infections just to cater for those sorts of visitors, I think not.

If you are too young to die but too old for Rock'n Roll it is your problem.

Why do you need to be on crack? Do you have a problem with comprehension?

It seems perfectly understandable what the authorities are trying to do.

You have your opinion concerning the competency of the Thai authorities and I have mine. If my sarcasm ( i.e. I don't do crack or any other drugs) concerning their competency and my comprehension therein runs afoul of your sensibilities, I really couldn't give a rat's rear end. I have very low opinion of your opinion of my opinions.

The General PM is a very out of touch with reality dude.

I like Rooster's description of this guy, it fits so well.

I am wondering about which one of the PM's handlers is a

non drinker, who does not want any tourism until late in 2022.

I think you're missing the point.  I can't speak for others but when I'm on holiday, I may not have a drink in an afternoon the whole time or I may have one every day. What I wouldn't want is to be told I can't - epecially when that country is once again advertising it its 'Amazing Thailand' message on my TV and proclaiming that subject to obtaining a Thailand Pass, the country is now open again.  It quite clearly is not open again and it goes much further than bars and restaurants - they are duping tourists and I may add, tourists that have paid a lot more then they would normally do to get to the country.  You know that there are restrictions and that the bars are closed because of your connections to Thailand, a hell of a lot of regular tourists will have no idea and I suspect a lot are going to be very disappointed.

He said he had personally intervened to make sure that tourists' experiences at the airport were speeded up with more electronic means to save their valuable time. He claimed that tourists were thrilled with these measures instigated by him.

This man is positively delusional. He could not possibly be more out of touch with reality.

He has destroyed his nation's economy.

He has quite possibly destroyed the tourism industry, by demonstrating cowardice and extreme timidity.

He has destroyed nightlife in Thailand.

He has brought unhappiness to his paople. And covid is only a factor in all of this.

It's just how much you pay.

Walked yesterday to soi 4.

The 2 or 3 bars on the left site were well visited. Mostly farang and I didn't see a single one having something to eat.

They were sitting and having drinks out of bottles. Not using any mugs.

In England people would call you a "snake in the grass" or "grass" to shorten the phrase. Why come on here to tell silly little tales?

hmmmm.... bye bye to tourists with the alcohol ban. An idiot should be able to work this out, but hang on TIT ?

Just a thought but I wonder how many tea totallers have been infected by the bug and how many have died. we only have the Governments view that alcohol plays a part in this pseudo pandemic and can someone tell me how you can be at risk in a beer bar but not in coffee shop or tea bar, show me the evidence.

Why would anyone waste their time trying......?

This so called PM is killing the tourist industry in Thailand with these stupid bans that do nothing. He will soon find out . He thinks there are more tourist that want to come to Thailand for Elephant rides and tour Temples. This clown needs to go along with his health minister

Yet he will let 400,000 people in across the land borders soon.  I guess I just don't understand.

It is well known he is anti alcohol . He band all advertising, plus showing alcohol on ANY social media page, selfie. Instagram. Facebook, WhatsApp can cost you upto a B100,000 fine. and/or 2 months in prison.

The Thai economy and the people and businesses associated with it need it.

This soldier posing as a PM does not need to care, you can bet his financial situation will be improving all the time from 2014 right through the pandemic. Some sort of authority needs to look into his finances. This guy is worse than any criminal. He is responsible for the loss of many livelihoods and suicides.

Sure the Cvirus statistics may increase if the bars and other businesses reopen, but healthy people are recovering all the time in their thousands, and the vaccinations will have helped as well.

Time to open the bars and other businesses and do away with this stupid alcohol nonsense. As it is always being said, the prevention is much worse than the cure.

Probably extending the ban to Chinese New Year, to be announced mid January

Interesting you mention Chinese New Year. I agree with you, but something tells me that if China were to allow its people to travel internationally, we’d start to see these restrictions truly be lifted.

That sounds a bit like "Come back Thaksin, all is forgiven".

I think that they terrified about him coming back and challenging them.

This is all about the student protests. The bars are always the last to be allowed to open. When he allows that, it means that all covid restrictions are lifted, which includes the right to assemble. He is so scared of the pro democracy protests that he will do anything, sacrifice anybody to stop them. Pathetic.

  • 3 weeks later...

He would probably worry if there was elections coming up. Then again ...remember last time ?
