It’s available for everyone over 12 currently.

But very much depending on location, people "have to" go with mixed vaccines, and can't choose 2x Pfizer or 2x Moderna. That's (apparently) a no-no for a Thai person in Chonburi province. I heard of people from Roi Et (mixed) going to Buriram (2x Pfizer) to get their jabs!

Did your extrapolation  consider the possibility that the virus is more widely spread than is known  ie:  not 100 % of the population has been tested to see if they  had or have the virus.

When/if ever  they declare the pandemic over then the "real" figures can be calculated

until then its just "best guestimation"  and "questionable" computer modelling.

Perfectly true........although given the potential for the number of deaths being in the millions I personally would tend to err on the side of caution.

Your position is weakened by the fact that the virus evolves, so that people who were infected in 2020 have little defense against Delta.

So, testing everyone to see if they have ever been infected may be educational, but the results aren’t going to tell us that much about the future trajectory of the epidemic.

Let's assume 99% survival, to make the math easy. So, for a million cases (like the USA has every 10 days or so), that's 10,000 dead over those 10 days or so.

This brings us back to  with the virus or because of the virus..perhaps its better to wait for the figures for total excess mortality and compare them to previous years for a clearer picture.

Also some serious studies into the effects of lockdowns on health  physical ,mental and economic.

To break the covid infection chain, we need 100% of the population vaccinated.

And so the question is  what happens if 100% are vaccinated but the infections continue ?

remember these present vaccines are "leaky"    is it possible to eradicate the virus with leaky vaccines or do we just have to live with it...until they find a 100% proof vaccine

or continue with masks, lockdowns and multi jabbing for eternity ?

You are ignoring a basic fact of immunology, the R0 factor. The percent vaccinated is not as important as the R0 number. Get R0 below 1, and the epidemic goes away.

We live with it like we live with Measles or Polio.

Lottery. Thais love the lottery... Do like one of the States in the USA did and give everyone who gets jabbed a chance to win a million baht.

They did that in Hong Kong too.

Had both cash prize lottery and at least on new apartment (condo).

All of which were donated by wealthy businessmen and families.

I'll tell you the same as I said to johng, I ain't scared of her, but she knows how the family feel, she's old (well over 70) diabetic, overweight, she's a prime candidate.

So, more for her wellbeing than ours, and if it means her only daughter don't visit sobeit,

The risk is lower but not rare. If you are vaxxed, the worry is not getting infected because you know that the risk of dying from a breakthrough infection is very low. However, being vaxxed you will be going out more. Doing more normal things. With this comes the risk of getting infected. Do you want to risk infecting your unvaxxed MIL who is over 8x more likely to catch it if you are infected? Can you live with it on your conscience if you caused her death?

So....there's no chance of her dieing from diabeties or obesity, only from covid, and how could you possibly know which person infected her if she was to catch covid?
