Pattaya Police began what they called a crackdown on suspected prostitutes on Pattaya beach early this morning just after Midnight (November 25th).

Pattaya City Active Police Chief Colonel Maykawit Praditpol ordered his team to patrol along the Pattaya Beach area.

The patrolling, according to Colonel Maykawit, is to prevent any crime or gathering causing the potential spread of the Covid -19 virus. According to the Colonel, there had many complaints from concerned citizens about women and transgender individuals allegedly selling sexual services in the beach area. The Colonel stated that this was a potential hotspot for spreading Covid-19 and with major festivals like the fireworks festival set for this weekend or the music festival set for the following weekend, the actions were inappropriate for a “family-friendly” destination like Pattaya.

Beach road girls have moved to Buakhao, you know that means when Thailand opens up Indians for one will be heading to Buakhao instead.

Girls bring the tourists in, stupid to chase them away

The prostitutes are infinitely more honest than the police franchisees. At least with the gals you get what you paid for and they are engaging in sex work. With the cops, you get nothing, and they ARE RARELY engaged in law enforcement.

I might accept there were a small number of complaints from people getting pestered..... the LBs are quite pushy.

What were these people looking for just after midnight?

There's one at my local market. First thing she said to me was "Welcome to Amazing Thailand!" Then I found her English was quite good. Doubt she got it from some intl school or uni. What she got from her trade was prob a lot better anyway. Real hands on experience.

But now she's up there in years, so it was time to retire to selling desserts in the market. Good timing given the recent events. Bet she's got some stories to tell about the good ol' days. Though I doubt my wife would be as interested.

Was the headline a pun. maybe another word instead of "CRACKDOWN". I am sure the police would not stoop to that level to see if a person is a prostitute.

looks like they feed of KFC

????????????

Yeah because obviously a firework and a music festival with hundreds standing around together is so much safer ! ????

One group gets arrested, booked, hounded and fined. The other get to watch fireworks or listen to music. Yes; one of the groups is much safer to be part of.

So it's moved from the bars to the beach... now it's unacceptable?

Stop the "family friendly destination" BS

Pattaya is a "cat-house" end of.

Money for food.

They closed the bars that they used to work in and they expect them to just disappear.

Half a dozen girls on Beach Road are a Covid risk but it's OK to have thousands of people mingle together for the Music and Firework Festivals.

I really meant the complainants.

It’s already proven that there is no prostitution in Pattaya.

"suspected" ????????????????????

Prostitution is paying for sex, as a friend once told me he never pays the girls for sex, he only ever gives them money to leave his room.

Prostitutes on Pattaya beach?

Shocking!

Pattaya Police to crackdown on suspected prostitutes on Pattaya beach.....

I think we can relax....the crackdown is on suspected prostitutes, the real ones are blindingly obvious and presumably left to ply their trade.
