I bet there is a lot of buildings changing hands in Pattaya.   For the new patts.  Family friendly, 80% Thai tourists.

Just what the world is short of, another family friendly resort.

He said that he received his QR code in just 4 days then continued to address the PM:

Ridiculously slow.

But I guess things may be simpler by December 16th.

Who knows with this convoluted government.

Pattaya is gone R.I.P.

Does anyone remember nice place named Sihanoukville (Cambodia)

Transformed in rapid time by the big boy in the north.

One word remaining (missing) to kill/transform Pattaya.

That word is CASINO....coming to a station near you.

Seems any mention of Pattaya only generates giggles and sarcasm.

Not with me.... mention of Pattaya brings tears and distant good memories. It's finished.

"Made in Thailand" bar section now completely demolished.

That's just stage 1 getting under way..

Walking street next....

Then rest to follow.

Not sure I would agree. Sois 7 and 8 have been getting quieter for sometime now. This has just killed them off. There has been a big shift to the Soi Buakhao area for a while. LK Metro, Tree Town, Soi Chayapoon, Soi Honey and even down towards the market you have Action street.

I passed through Soi Chayapoon (Soi Pothole) last week and even saw some bars being refurbished after changing hands.

Its still there but been pushed back into the city a little more.

Pattayas only real attraction is being the largest red light city in the world. The sea is dirty and is bad traffic a lot of fighting and murders and a haven for criminals and sexpats.

But most people won't admit it. I was a majority shareholder and Executive Director of the leading hotel there. I think a lot of us would like to see the end of Pattaya . It was once a wonderful place in the late 60s. I went there every weekend whilst I was working in Bangkok. The sea was crystal clear full of large fish, there were no bar girls or bars. I watched it grow over the years as it deteriorated.

Try putting Hua Hin/Prachuap Khiri Khan murders into Google.................

Some pretty shocking property developers down that way too.

Pattaya has been had too many bars for many years.  Many of the owners continually complaining about lack of customers and money.  Same with restaurants many think they can come here and open a business with no experience or sense of proper service.

I see all this as a cleaning out.  In with the new, there are many new ones being built/renovated in the central area if one cannot see this then they are not here.  And several of the Soi 7 and 8 bars that are empty now have in fact been rented for future business.

Pattaya will have plenty of bars for future customers it by no means is some forgotten dead for ever place, only in some peoples negative minds.

B1.1.529 coming soon….

Omikron!

Letter is nonsense.

People can't remember number sequences. They used to name the variants after the country in which they originated, but those places strongly objected to the association. WHO settled for naming them from the Greek Alphabet - eg Delta, Omicron.
