It appears that Thailand's controversial Health Minister and DPM Anutin will be going to Switzerland after all.

 

Just a day after the minister ranted about illegal bars selling alcohol, a government spokeswoman said he was on his way to Europe.

 

Earlier reports caused much online chatter after Anutin would have been unable to attend meetings at the WHO conference in Geneva starting today and continuing to December 2nd because of his vaccination status.

 

Though many thought the minister was denied entry to Switzerland it later emerged that he could have gone but would have had to have stayed in his hotel room. 

 

This was because he'd had at least one Sinovac jab and hadn't had a booster.

 

Now it appears he has got the visa and would be able to attend meetings. Daily News did not speculate if Anutin had received a booster or not or why there was this sudden turnaround to attend the conference.

 

Instead they quoted deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree as saying that Anutin and his entourage would attend the meeting that will guide international Covid policy according to a treaty.

 

PM Prayuth Chan-ocha was one of 25 world leaders spearheading moves, suggested Traisuree.

 

In addition Anutin would be engaged in meetings about the WHO BioHub System looking at sharing vaccines under the auspices of the Universal Health and Preparedness Review. 

 

Also there was further work for Anutin concerning an entirely different virus, namely HIV.

 

Anutin will attend meetings as Thailand prepares to become the next chair of the UN AIDS Program Coordination Board.

 

World AIDS day will be marked in the middle of the conference, next Wednesday December 1st.

 

While Thailand has faced much criticism for its Covid response, the country has been widely praised over the years for its work in the HIV/AIDS sphere, notes ASEAN NOW.

Should be banned from re-entering this country after taking what will be just another holiday at Tax Payers expense.  What useful input will he provide to the 'Meeting' of all these Twerps leaving huge environmental 'Footprints' to achieve next to nothing for The Planet ?

Anutin took Sinovac only once and had reactions and then the doctor Anutin was advised and prescribed not to take other vaccines, and the document was accepted in Switzerland.

Nothing wrong with Sinovac, it is just less effective compared to the mRNA vaccines.

Looks like the key is to vaccinate fact and then provide different type of boosters...even the average performing vaccines do well in these circumstances, Cambodia and UAE are good examples.

Aha, the sweetheart of public health did NOT want to stay in a quarantine hotel and threw a tantrum instead! 

The shoulder-rubbing with the Swiss ambassador, PR-hungry whenever she can, seemed to have borne fruit and she must have kissed the Swiss FM's whatever-side to let her trusted old friend to attend a conference, where - despite his hatred for caucasians and alcohol - he will be able to indulge in nice wines at affordable prices served by caucasian hospitality staff.
