CCSA spokesman Taweesin Visanuyothin urged all people who have yet to be vaccinated in the provinces to come forward and get a jab.

Bangkok has so far led the way in getting vaxxed but Taweesin said that each and every person living outside the capital is important to get to a 70% figure of the population double dosed.

This is especially important with the Omicron variant on the horizon, reported INN yesterday.

As of Tuesday this week 93.5 million jabs had been done with 72% having received a first dose.

The target is 100 million by the end of this week.

He stressed the continuing vaccination push that began at the weekend on the founding day of the Ministry of Public Health and continues up to Father's Day, December 5th.

Of all the people who have arrived by air since the reopening of Thailand - Thais and foreigners -  only 0.13% have tested positive for Covid which is within expected parameters.

Foreigners are bringing in some money, he said, which was important.

Top nations so far were the US, Germany, Netherlands, UK, Japan, France, South Korea, UAE and Israel.

Omicron cases in those countries so far seemed to be connected to south African travel and contact.

He urged people to continue to adopt caution and for businesses to ensure compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

Six prosecutions have happened after 10,161 checks on 15,840 businesses.

Just one was shut.

Some 172 non SHA businesses were warned for serving alcohol.

AstraZeneca, Pfizer and moderna are available.

As I just wrote in another post: Pfizer used here in the village health center on Nov 30. Vaccination started here with Sinovac followed by AZ in July and August.

I also got Sinovac plus AZ. Now waiting for Moderna (paid) on December 17.

Running the #s, 72% or 93.5 million, is 67.32 mill getting 1st shot (finding hard to believe) meaning most of Thai population had 1 shot.

Leaves 26 million doses, meaning only 13 million are fully vax'd, and more believable.  Krung Thep metro alone has an 8+ million population.

Or 72% of population (50 ish million) have had 1 shot, leaving 43 mill doses for 21 ish million fully vaccinated.

Think something lost in translation myself...or not.  Hopefully the latter, for those wanting.

Hmm ... just read another (conflicting) new-blip, state 39.5+ mill have received both shots, so 79+ million doses, and 46+ million have received their 1st shot.  79+46=125 million doses vs 93.5 in OP's news-blip.

Oh yea, throw in 3 million receiving booster.  Even though, it stated 88.87 million doses administered so far.  Think someone's calculator needs new batteries.

The article you link to has an error leading to your confusion. There are 46+ million people who have had AT LEAST one shot. That includes the 39.5 million who have had both shots. So the total doses administered add up to 39.5 double + (46-39.5) single + 3 booster = circa 88.5 million.

That article was 10 days ago so 5 million more doses since then sounds about right resulting in a total of 93.5 doses as of today.

41.7M 2nd doses as of Dec 01. Another 6.8M with single dose. I assume by "2nd dose", they mean fully vaxed. That would

be about 60%

Just back from an Issarn trip  ... went with two teenagers to the local hospital for their second-shot appointment ... took 4 1/2 hours! ... I haven't heard the hospital's side as to why it took so long ... but I'm calling the hospital incompetent (in the face of the government's call in the OP).

OK, the final half-hour is the "observation period" ... but the other four hours??? - it included a one-hour lunch break for some hospital staff ... BUT we arrived at our appointed time: so, our appointment time included sitting through their lunch.

This is the latest update from the MoPH for nationwide vax numbers thru Dec. 1 - 67.7% have received 1 shot, 58.3% have received 2 shots. The rows are the subtotals for individual target groups such as medical workers, seniors, etc.

With all the comparative numbers - it could be worse.

To date, the fully vaccinated stands at 59.5% and up to 80% partially vaccinated.

And, as you've mentioned above, the booster jabs are ongoing.

All-in-all, not really too bad - considering the bungling, mismanagement and politics regarding the early programs.

Yet, despite all this - the numbers have ramped up considerably [and steady] over the last few months.

A misinformation post claiming, wrongly, that vaccination doesn't help prevent COVID infections has been removed.

How weird.

One doctor of the Outbreak Management Team that advises the Dutch government on the COVID situation in The Netherlands, (Diederik Grommers) actually stated on a Belgian radio program recently that vaccinations don’t prevent infections and therefore he didn’t see the point of introducing a 2G system in The Netherlands. Since vaccinations don’t prevent transmissions, he thought a 1G approach would be wiser.

He also said the following during the program: “it doesn’t matter if you’re vaccinated or not; if you feel sick, stay home”.

As you would if you had a bad cold or flu.

Am only too willing to get the Moderna shot paid for 5 months ago, but not available yet. What a joke.

Just take a free vaccine, no need to be sad just because you wasted some money.
