Wrong Anutin. Omicron is no worse but it is more contagious, which in effect actually makes it worse.

Omicron is already in the country and very contagous so anyone entering the country has more chance of contracting it from local transmission rather than fully vaccinated, tested foreign entries.

Thailand will be fine with Omicron, no one will ever know, because they won't be testing. Only those unfortunate enough to have booked a holiday in Thailand will be seriously tested, so that they can turn round and say it was brought into the country by foreigners.

In hindsight they should have focused on effective  treatment protocols in view if the fact that the vaccines have not lived up to expectations (to put it mildly).

Wait, is Thailand actually trying to stop Omicron from entering?  Because it's already here.  What exactly are all these airport measures accomplishing again?  Seriously, the science here is underwhelming to say the least.  It's too late to stop transmission -- the vaccines don't, the masks don't, both just reduce, and here comes Omicron.  Airport rules and lockdowns do very little.  What WOULD help is if greedy pharmaceuticals were FORCED to DONATE all vaccine technology to the world.  But of course the Almighty $$$ prevents any policy other than oppression in the Global Work Prison.  Happy New Year!  ????

And it will be interesting to see how the current policy of hospitalisation of ALL Covid cases plays out - as a previous poster put it "There isn't enough room in Anutin's castle" ????

Just remember that the Burmese and other Asian countries people are

also foreigners as well, so Anutin is not lying. It is just some of you posters

take what he says too personally.  Everyone should just hope that Omicron is

indeed a milder form of COVID and that if you catch it you will have enough protection from

your vaccines that you will not die, or be sick for too long.

That is my Happy New Year thoughts.

That being said, the increasingly dominant Omicron variant seems to be causing symptoms a lot like the common cold so it may be time to finally stop being afraid of it and start trying to live our lives a bit more freely again.

It varies widely by individual. I caught Delta in June from a local Thai. Very mild symptoms, didn't know I even had it (confirmed later with an antibody test).

Thais and non-Thais alike are prone to such exposure to the flu, unless of course, Anutin and his cronies bribed the virus in such a way that it arrives only and exclusively on non-Thais as host.
