MOPH Tightens Measures to Cope With Omicron

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health asked the Centre for Covid-19 Situation to introduce tougher measures to curb the latest Covid-19 outbreak. The CCSA will consider various measures that may come into effect including banning alcohol consumption in restaurants.

69 Provinces Become Control Zones

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration declared 69 provinces orange zones and maintained eight provinces as blue zones where eateries can open for alcohol consumption until 9pm.

Test & Go Registration Stops, Sandbox in 3 More Provinces

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration continued suspending the Test & Go entry scheme, lifted its ban on arrivals from eight African countries and expanded the Sandbox entry scheme to three provinces.

Thai Covid Center holds major meeting, makes Omicron measure related announcements

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today, January 7th, announced the readjustment of color zoning in most provinces to the controlled area or the Orange Zone and other preventive measures to curb the domestic rapid spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant.

Fourth COVID vaccine shots to be administered to medics, people with chronic diseases

Thailand’s Disease Control Department has proposed its vaccination plan for this year, which covers unvaccinated children over 12 and children from 5-12, as well as fourth shots for medical personnel and those suffering from chronic diseases.

Baht Weaker as Omicron Surges, Dollar Spikes

BANGKOK (NNT) - Krungthai Bank market strategist Poon Panichpibool predicted that the Thai currency would move between 33.45 and 33.65 per US dollar, noting that it could be even weaker because of the pressure from the strengthening dollar and the Omicron outbreaks.
