Bangkok: Man shot six times - assailant flees with woman on motorcycle taxi - love triangle suspected

Bang Na police in the Bangkok suburbs and forensic teams rushed to Soi Jasote 9 after a shooting. 

 

They found Sathit Taeng-orn, 45, who had been shot four times in the back and once each in the abdomen and leg with a 9 mm gun.

 

Eight shots were fired in total by the shooter called Thanadech Siriraksatham, 47, who fled the scene.

 

Both the victim's Yamaha bike and the assailant's Honda motorcycle were found parked at the scene.

 

A resident said that the shooter had frantically tried to start his motorcycle 4-5 times without success.

 

He had then hailed a passing "win" (motorcycle taxi) and got on the back with a woman pointing the gun at the driver.

 

A 62 year old win told Siam Rath that he took the pair to some Navy flats at the end of the soi and then they boarded another motorcycle taxi. He wasn't aware of any gun and thought they were drugs' people fleeing police.

 

Another witness said the trouble was over the woman who had arrived at a block of flats on a motorcycle taxi followed by the victim then the assailant.

 

Investigations continue.

Which is strange, cause when I first came to live in Thailand, people kept asking me: "In your country you like swin- cking, right?", followed by laughter... - It took me a while to realise what they meant, cause their accent was so incomprehensible.

It is the big ego, small member and the oh so important face that

complicates life in Thailand. Oh and the fragile ego as well, hurt feelings

if life is not perfect. Things that I as a foreign tourist will never understand.
