grain
All my years driving around Thailand I only once been tested for alcohol. It was in Khon Kaen about 10 years ago, I was driving in the city about 6pm. Cop came out on road and stopped me, then while I was sitting in my car he got me to blow into the bag. It couldn't have been a better time for me as it was a rare period when I hadn't had a drink for about 3-4 days. Anyway, I passed the test and the cop told me I could go. It was a bit weird as I've never seen any roadside testing anywhere since, so maybe the cop had just received the testing kit and wanted to try it out. 1

Popular Post pedro01
I got breathalyzed in Sukhumvit, Bangkok. I'd had a few too many by 10pm, so stopped and left the bar at 3am. I got stopped, told them i'd had a few and went to the table to blow. The police had about 10 cars waiting to be towed. I blew, had to get below 80. Got to 50 Then 60 Then 70 and climbing The machine crawled thru 75 and slowly to 79 and stopped. We all stared, waiting for it to hit 80 but it stopped at 79 and change. It was silent. 20 seconds passed and the cops erupted like their team scored a goal. Pats on the back, "lucky man" and requests for lottery numbers ensued. Pretty funny but never again. Yellowtail
Unless you drive around drunk, why does it surprise people that they have not been breathalyzed?

djayz
It's difficult enough surviving on the roads when sober, why anybody would want to put their own lives - and the lives of other road users - at risk in this day and age of taxis, uber, grab, etc., etc., is beyond me!
