webfact
Sanook Thai Caption: Foundation fighting among themselves. It's a frequent situation in Thailand; arguments among rescue foundations and their rights to pick up the dead and injured at the scene of accidents. Yesterday in full view of people at the busy Asok intersection in downtown Bangkok (on the Terminal 21 side) violence erupted between staff of the SAME foundation - Poh Teck Tung. A video online showed the violence after a road traffic accident as staff from one section dealt with an injured person. A post said: "They're fighting over an injured person. Pity the victim". After the fight four Poh Teck Tung workers went to make a report at Thong Lo police station, reported Sanook. One of them, Khunakorn, 24, said they did this because a two baht weight gold chain and amulet belonging to one of them had gone missing. He said that at 10 pm they had responded to an accident at the intersection and were loading up the injured person to take them to hospital. Then Neung arrived - a fellow worker who operates a Poh Teck Tung cutting equipment detail. A scuffle broke out over who had the right to operate in that area. He claimed Neung said: "If you take the injured person there'll be trouble. Give them to me". "Take them yourself" was the response that prompted the fight. An official called Jirawat, 48, at the foundation based in Thong Lo said that it was part of a longer running feud that started in Pathumwan district. Poh Teck Tung were trying to resolve the conflict. They are not fighting over injured person, They are fighting over money they can get. It's all about the money. 5

Popular Post Pedrogaz
Sounds as though the 2 baht gold belonged to the victim, and the fight was over who had the right to steal it. 1 1

swm59nj
Another example of the fine mentality in the land of smiles. Rescue workers brawling over jurisdiction of an injured person. Shows how much they actually care about the patient”s well being .

BostonRob2
Thailand couldn't function without the rescue foundations. Mostly they do a brilliant job. People on here bashing them and suggesting they steal are utterly contemptible.

Mostly they do a brilliant job. People on here bashing them and suggesting they steal are utterly contemptible. In my country, emergency medical services, especially in bigger cities, are typically run the local government and staffed by licensed, professional paramedics or EMTs (usually in the Fire Department) who have undergone substantial medical training, and communicate in the field by radio with doctors at their base station hospital. In other words, they're professional medical personnel -- not street brawlers who have who knows what medical training and operate with the mentality of tow truck drivers. Unfortunately, what we have here right now with the so-called "foundations" is, in most cases aside from ambulances run by some private hospitals, the best Thailand has to offer when it comes to emergency medical services in the field.
