Skin Cancer - Good hospital in Khon Kaen

I had skin cancer of the head and was treated many years ago in Bangkok.
Eventually it was cleared using freezing and removal and I had no further issues until late last year.
Signs of possible cancer are similar but not the same as before again on head and also face.
Now living some 50km from Khon Kaen can anyone recommend a good hospital there ( i.e. KK ) ?

Not in Khon Khen but Bangkok Hospital in Korat I would recommend. Private Hospital. Excellent English.

He is also at Srinagraind Hospital in Khon Kaen (Khon Kaen University Hospital), you might be able to see him through their after hours clinic. It will cost much less there but entail waits and language issues,    have a Thai speaker go with you. The after hours clinic usually starts around 4 PM and also on Saturday mornings.

He is also at Srinagraind Hospital in Khon Kaen (Khon Kaen University Hospital), you might be able to see him through their after hours clinic. It will cost much less there but entail waits and language issues,    have a Thai speaker go with you. The after hours clinic usually starts around 4 PM and also on Saturday mornings.

+1 for Dr. Charoen. I've been regularly having freezing treatments with him for about a year now. I don't live in KK, I'm in Korat but drive up to KK every month to see Dr. Charoen, then spend a few days relaxing & shopping in KK. I see him at Sriagraind Hospital. The very first time I went there and registered I had a Thai friend come with me as it was all very confusing, but after that one first time I go alone. Never have to wait that long, longest been about 1 hour, and my freezing treatments on spots on my limbs and head cost about 1100 Bt each visit. The doctor speaks good English and the receptionists are all very helpful & friendly. I believe the same treatment at KK Ram costs around 4000 Bt. So myself I have no problem in sitting around waiting for an hour at Sriagraind and saving 3000 Bt.

I use public transport so would be train from where I live to KK and back ( cheaper, quicker, cleaner ).
I have someone who can come with me.
Big differences in prices !

I go to KKU regarding my pacemaker every few months.
I use public transport from Banphai - train ( cleaner etc than the bus ) - as dont have a car, this of course limits time I can spend at the hospital.    Perhaps I could get a Saturday morning appointment ?

You might indeed be able to get a Saturday morining appt with him through the after hours clinic but it might be necessary to make that appointment in person first

Well you can always stay the night in KK. There are a few cheap hotels directly opposite the hospital, if you look on Google maps you can find them. There are some in the 500-600-700 Bt a night price range, and plenty of eating places in the area.

Many thanks Sheryl for your comments.
Saturday mornings would normally be great but, at this time, I am taking a 2 year old dog to KKU Veterinary Hospital for cancer treatment which includes chemo so, it takes much of the day.

May be able to get the person who drives me there to look after the dogon their own while I go for my own check and treatment but, it means waiting around for blood test results which means about 5 hours before chemo is given.

Will see if I can get a daytime visit for Friday.

I can ask my friend who drives me to KK to look after the dog Saturday morning whilst I go for appointment but it's a 5 hour wait for the dog which is very tiresome.

Your first time there at Srinakarin will take a long time. From memory my first time, including finding where to go to register, and registering, then finding where to go to the skin clinic, and waiting to see the doctor, took over 3 hours. But subsequent visits are very much faster.
