I mentioned Ukraine does it too. Probably you also said this on 3rd or 5th page of this topic, aren't you? In the past, as you probably know, the ones who fought for the kingdom (no matter which) got much more then just freedom. The queen granted high ranks to some remarkable, bloody, merciless pirates. So, Prigozhin stands in a good company from historical point of view. My remarks were only about that. I don't have any objections to your other statements that Ukrainians are brave, willing to fight, liberated large territory etc. I have no idea what your talking about, I'm not wondering about anything but don't let that stop you rambling 1 1

Prigozhin, 60, a catering magnate known as “Putin’s chef,” filed suit against Higgins, the founder of investigative website Bellingcat, in December after the news site published reports revealing Prigozhin’s close ties to the Kremlin and his work running the shady Wagner Group, a mercenary organization operating in conflicts in Ukraine, Africa, and the Middle East. 2

Consider Prigozin as a Privateer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privateer As I said, from a historical point of view, there is no difference. Sir (granted by the queen) Francis Drake, a privater, slave trader and so on has his own statue in Plymouth. Privateers were quite common in those days, it's one of the reasons how a small country like The Netherlands could become the most powerful nation on the planet for quite a while. But that was 400-500 years ago, times were a little different back then. Torturing prisoners to extract a confession was quite normal, for instance. Life was very cheap. Times have changed since then, however. The death penalty has been abolished in a lot of countries, torturing prisoners (or anyone else, for that matter) is frowned upon and going to war because a wannabe fascist dictator has delusions of grandeur is something most civilized countries strongly disapprove of. Apparently Putin doesn't care about all that, though, and wants to go back in time a couple of centuries. I feel sorry for Russia for having such an insane leader, and such a kleptocratic elite who care about nothing and no one, only about themselves, the size of their bank accounts and their giant ego. 2
