Pattaya mayor to speed up Tawaen Pier bridge’s restoration on Koh Larn

Koh Larn, Pattaya-  Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem, the Pattaya mayor, gave an update on the restoration project of the Tawaen Pier bridge on Koh Larn, Pattaya, stating that the bridge has been in operation to accommodate visitors who want to come to Koh Larn for nearly 25 years and it is time for it to be restored and repaired.

Therefore, the bridge is now in a dilapidated condition and needs an optimal restoration in regards with the bridge’s main structure which impacts its stability, the bridge floor, roofs, railings, and the wharf structure so that the bridge will be fully functional and secure once again to facilitate citizens and tourists who want to go to Koh Larn in line with the “Eastern Economic Corridor” project or EEC.

Would it not be easier to build the whole thing again from scratch ?  Or is it bucket and nails budget ?

In the 7 years I lived and worked in Thailand, the elevator always came when I pushed the button, clear water always came out when I turned on the tap, the lights always came on when I flipped the switch, my pickup never fell into a sinkhole, my interweb always worked, and my cell phone always had a signal.  Most, if not all, at a price significantly less than back home.

 

Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of what it takes to keep those systems running would recognize your statement as racist tripe.

You have not been here long enough.... newbies experiences.

I admit I have yet to drive into a sinkhole, but of course have seen many, and I don't recall losing my cellphone signal. The rest I can tick to.  I always felt my electricity here went off rather often... something extremely rare back in the UK. Generally things get fixed here quite quickly.
