Thai regulators are “very likely” to approve a merger deal between True Corporation and Total Access Communication but may run into opposition from the current Minister of Digital Economy, a government insider told Thai Enquirer on Monday.

Both companies informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) in February, that their boards of directors approved the deal to form a new mobile player by merging them together. They expect the merger will likely be completed by the third quarter of 2022.

However, the deal still requires approval from shareholders and Thai regulators at the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC).

Hehe. So now you know who'll be getting a few hundred million baht in convincing.

Glory and praise to our good Thai-Chinese friend Mr. CP. May his grandchildren's Lambos continue screaming down Sukhumvit, may his empire continue to grow, until it encompasses the entire country. Hey, why not. He couldn't be any worse than Mr. P.

As I posted on another thread, perhaps just easier if we circulate a (short) list of businesses that are not owned by CP/True or have their footprint all over it.

Farcical and indicative of edging even further towards oligarchy.

TRUE Vision already monopolizing Thai Satellite TV with an expensive very poor service. Quit last year after Live Sport constantly disrupted. Competition Required.

TRUE Wi-Fi has only 3BB competitor

TRUE Mobile Phone Service then will commence with merging ( takeover) with DTAC who only do mobile phone service.

Again this is not in Thai consumer best interest as competition is only decreased

Once again another business deal thats worse for the customer. Its sickening that things like this continue to happen because of those in charge.
