However, if the project is allowed to go ahead, you can be sure it's only because it benefits such people, either directly, or indirectly, and possibly corruptly, also, and most likely on an ongoing basis. If I ever should go to Samui, it will in the most convenient and cheap way, which means taking a flight to NST and a transfer to Samui. Alternatively I could also imagine a train journey. For sure I won't use Bangkok Airways. If the seahorse ferry can beat the price, I'm all in But it starts already with the problem, how to get to Sattahip. The Chinese will once again be the main demographic of tourists here in the future. Unless it's part of their package, they will not be getting on the boat. The Russians will not be back anytime soon. The Indians are returning in numbers, but do not get many days in country. There's the expats, who may be price conscious. The berthing at Samui was quite difficult but doable, departing was much simpler. Rooms are expensive because of the limited numbers but aircraft type seating (Eco and VIP) are available as well as sleeping pods. The vessel has Wifi installed which seemed to be very effective. There is Sky Deck dinning/entertainment/drinks, a very nice restaurant, Night Club and bar, Spa and coffee shop. Vessel departs Sattahip 5pm and arrives Samui around 8-9 am. Return trip departs 4pm and arrives Sattahip 7-8am. Pricing for rooms is very high because of the limited numbers, but basic aircraft type economy seats expected to start at about Baht 2500/person. VIP seating about Baht 3,000/person. There's space for about 150 cars. More info will follow from our partner Samui Cruise later this week. Target start date is about 27th September to ensure all booking systems etc.. are fully working, but hoping for quicker. I suppose the question is, will passengers prefer the onboard experience your service is offering, or, an extra night in a Samui restaurant / bar / nightclub? Any idea of your drink prices onboard? If flying makes you happy, go for it. From what I saw at the weekend passengers absolutely loved it, but the big plus for them was bringing their cars and motorbikes. However, we are looking at introducing a weekly service Sattahip/Samui/Songkhla/Samui and return to Sattahip.
