Infowars files bankruptcy.

My bet it that this is a stalling tactic and assets were carefully hidden before the bankruptcy filing.  I'm also confident that the contemptible Alex Jones will continue to spread lies for profit.

Sorry to hear this. Their journalist Owen Shroyer was excellent, his live videos taken at leftist events interviewing the public was hilarious. I found Jones unwatchable due to his irritating voice, but you must admit he has been proven spot on about most important world issues. Of course he was wrong about Sandy Hook and is paying the price for that. Well fair is fair, if getting important narratives wrong leads to lawsuits and bankruptcy this will have ramifications for MSM. I suppose other media outlets like the Atlantic, Politico, Reuters, MSNBC, CNN, Wapo etc will be in Infowars shoes in a few years time after their intentional misinformation and supressing irrefutable evidence of a presidential candidates corruption in order to game an election. A much more serious journalistic breech than getting a school shooting narrative wrong.

 What's good for the goose....

 

edit to add - I can't believe he sold like $150m of his nutritional supplements in 3 years. Just incredible.

Do you mean the blatantly obvious lie that parents grieving over the loss of murdered children were crisis actors?  The lie that led to death threats against these parents by lunatic conspiracy theorists who believe any conspiracy theory offered so long as they are offered loudly and with spittle?

 

He sold all those nutritional supplements by enlisting the help of "Dr Edward Group" who supposedly went to MIT.  Group has a chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College (not really a doctor, not really an expert on nutrition) who may have visited MIT at some time but never graduated from there.  It's unclear if he ever took a class there.

 

The man is a liar and a snake oil salesman.

 

Eric Shroyer has some baggage as well:

Easy to believe. Shysters have been scamming the gullible fool demographic for millennium.

Never knew a time when Infowars wasn't bankrupt. That this has apparently become a financial reality also.......... is no shocker!

 

Ultimately, the tragedy wasn't their failure. The tragedy was their success!

You're right about the demographic that would listen to his nonsense.  They're not the brightest.  Which means they can be easily fleeced.  Jones is a part of this ruthless band of conspiracy theorists who've figured out how to make easy money.  Tell the rubes what they want to hear.....and then sell them useless stuff.

He's a loud-mouthed, blow-hard and I don't particularly like him, but I defend his right to say whatever he wants.  If what he is saying is defamatory - let the courts handle it just like is happening right now.

Agreed, but there is nothing wrong with people who know about his lying and scamming to share this knowledge with comments on a public forum.

It’s a sad indictment of the American rightwing that it relies on inflammatory statements to enrage and then corral it’s support base with lies and defamatory statements while hiding behind what the courts have/haven’t ruled.
