Help With Flr

Featured Replies

Hi

We are living in the UK most of the time but spend about 3 or 4 months in Thailand a year my wife is on a marriage visa here and that finishes April next year,we are planning to build in Thailand and move there late next year so dont want to go throught all the trouble with Ilr can we just extend with Flr for another 2 years? any help with this subject web pages etc regards Jim.....

Jim,

Your wife is not compelled to apply for ILR if she doesn't want it. She can seek to extend her stay by completing form FLR(M) and the fee is £395.00. She will still have to submit the requested evidence showing that you will have been living together, but she doesn't need to undertake either of the language/citizenship tests.

You cannot apply until there are 28days or less left on the current leave to remain.

Use FLR(M) Guidance notes

You cannot apply until there are 28days or less left on the current leave to remain.

Where does it say that?

Where does it say that?

OK for FLR it doesn't it says You must apply before the end of your authorised stay in UK

as posted in the notes referred to

For leave to remain, there is no requirement to have spent a prescribed period of time in the UK, so one can apply at any time before the current conditions expire.
