One Man Murdered, One Injured In Street Fight

Featured Replies

Some time around 7:00am on Saturday a street fight between two men on one side and an unknown number of men on the other resulted in the bashing death of a 25 year old Thai man and severe injuries to another 25 year old Thai man.

Police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Volunteers were called to the front of a restaurant in Naklua after local residents informed them of the incident. Here they found one man lying dead in a pool of blood and the other in a semi-conscious state underneath a wash basin. A witness to the incident said he heard a lot of noise in front of the closed restaurant and when he looked out they saw the two victims being accosted by an unknown number of men. When he asked what was happening the attackers claimed to be volunteer police who were in the process of apprehending a pair of drug dealers.

The two victims were friends who worked in a construction company on Sukhumvit and had left for a night out together. Police are uncertain as to the reasons behind the vicious attack and are hoping the injured man will be able to recover sufficiently to give them a few clues to work with.
