Daily News Thai Caption: Phra Bida released from jail

Daily News reported that the white haired man at the center of a bizarre cult in the north east of Thailand had been released from bail.

Disciples of the cult in Khon San district of Chaiyaphum believe their illnesses could be cured by ingesting phlegm, urine, feces, pus and skin scrapings.

Health authorities said they were foolish to believe such claims that could make them ill.

A high profile raid was conducted by activist Dr Pla or Jiraphan Petchkhao after he appealed to the provincial governor Kraisorn Kongchalad and local police over the cult.

A total of 11 corpses were found at the property - the oozing secretions from the bodies was also being used in strange religious practices.

Arrested was 74 year old Thewee Nanla also known as Phra Bida.

He was first ordered jailed on four charges after a court rejected relatives' 50,000 baht bail application.

His disciples were furious.

Now a post online indicated that the 'guru' has been freed by the provincial court.

What he will do next remains a mystery.

He faces charges for encroachment on public land, medical quackery, transporting corpses illegally and breaking Covid-19 rules.

Sorry. It's illegal (whatever that means in the Kingdom) to send such things thru most delivery channels.

Your charitable instincts are laudable though.
