METV, a thing of the past ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm just browsing through the website of my nearest embassy, to visit Thailand after +2 years of abstinence.

More paperwork than ever b4. The good news, () there is finally an e-visa.

However, it seems only be the case for the single entry visa.

METV's seem not to be available online.

If entering with a e-visa (SETV), I doubt that you'll get another e-visa granted while in Asia.

Neither do I expect that the situation in the neighboring countries did improve in any ways regarding visa application ??

To make things worse, in my region, it seems all the consular sections are shut down, so the embassy is your only option.

You can only apply for a METV in your home country.

It is hard to find on the e visa site but the METV is still being issued.

It will be possible to get a SETV in neighboring country soon. Laos has started opening up and people have already gotten visas in Cambodia.

All the honorary consulates are shutdown at this time. Official Thai consulates are open.

It depends on the embassy where you apply. Some embassies offer METV also now, some don't.

Thanks Joe,

I had not created an account, so it was impossible to find.

Once registered , it seems easy.

Be careful on the eVisa site that you don't mix up choices for an STV (Special Tourist Visa) and just a standard tourist visa with multiple entries.

Two totally different visas entirely

On e-visa website, select the purpose of visit as Tourism and Leisure Activities. Visa Type as Tourist visa and then select Multiple in Number of Entries. Additional requirements (compared to Single Entry) will be displayed on Travel information tab. Happy travel.
