The masks I use here, and carry, are called 'surgical masks'....they are the same ones worn around the hospitals here, and the same the doctor put on when he performed a small operation. 

I would feel happier if people in close proximity to me in indoor situations wore exactly those masks....

I bought quite a supply of these pollution masks just before Covid.... the ones with the valves in them.... and along comes Covid, they are not suitable of course, so I still have plenty as I bought surgical ones. I have been using the motorcycle much less lately too .

So tourists are going to leave their home countries where no masks are required to come to Thailand to wear a mask.  I would go somewhere else.  

 

Masks don't work.   Here's an example.  Scotland did not get rid of masks until 18th April whereas the rest of the UK got rid of them on 28th January.  This graph compares the Covid cases since November last year.  After 28th January Scotland's cases doubled relative to the rest of the UK.

A 7 day covid holiday would be awesome and give me some much needed time at home to work on some projects.

That 7 day COVID holiday could turn into  3 - 6 months of fatigue, mental confusion and rehabilitation. According to Australian data, there is a 10-20% chance of that happening.

More than 90% of the staff here at my work have had it with little to no symptoms.

Perhaps we could all wear neon signs on our heads saying "triple vaccinated, had COVID."

I wear a mask out of courtesy to others, and to avoid fines. I doubt I am a risk to others, or they are to me.

I don't wear one on the golf course, <deleted> the average golf course is 150 acres.

I do wonder how bike riders get enough oxygen, exercising while wearing a mask does not seem sensible to me.

Total nonsense, and complete denial of science. This is about maintaining paranoia, control, and fear. After all, you would not want the people to get too comfortable. They might take to the streets again, and show their disdain for this thoroughly toxic, and nearly useless administration. 

 

Hopefully, we will see alot of civil disobedience.

 

I for one, will not be wearing a mask for much longer. This is getting ridiculous. Defy stupidity and oppression! Embrace science and common sense.

Yes. Very lucky. Have had alot of friends who have had it. Very mild symptoms, similar to the flu. Long term covid is super rare with Omi. Omi is pus** covid. Very soft and weak, for most.

How many of the masks that are being worn are old, dirty, full of saliva ? Who many people just throw them in their cars, pockets and bag and just take them out and put them on when going outside or out of their cars, the dirt and Bacteria that is in each mask would be enough to make someone sick, wasn't the mask mandate from WHO to change mask every 4 hours to a clean new mask, so most people are wearing dirty bacteria riddled masks, so why bother with the mask wearing Mandate at all

Same, I have a good stock [pre-Covid] of N95 masks..

I will still be wearing them to keep the pollution out of my lungs.

Respiratory illness was a large problem long before Covid came along, yet it served to help many pass away when they became infected.

Covid is virtually over.. but pollution remains as it did.

Just look around, there’s an over supply of masks and hand sanitiser that they enforced every outlet to purchase in abundance and the government probably have mounting loads to dispose of and still trying to profit from, put two and two together you have a continuation of mask mandates etc

Breathing in my expelled carbon dioxide when wearing a mask is awful, after  10 min of this I have to lower my mask and take a few deep breaths, maybe if I could vape I could stop smoking, and wouldn't have that problem. yeh I know slag me off go for it.

I'm starting to ridicule the Thais I know who still do this. They know it's stupid but they feel some sense of greater duty to the mission.

 

Yesterday I even got in a little fight with my wife because I didn't wear my mask in the restaurant while waiting for the food to arrive. This is actually getting worse in levels of paranoia and could develop into long term mental disorder if goes on for much longer.

That's fine. If you want to wear one, knock yourself out. I might still wear a N95 mask on smoggy days if I take the motorbike.

 

However, this thread is about masks being mandatory. There is a huge difference between an individual choosing to wear a mask because of pollution and being forced to wear a mask by a government looking to assert power/control over the population.

Really it's time to move on, as most here are against wearing masks. I think they do help as I have been next to people with my mask on talking to them for some time and I haven't got covid yet. It pays to have a n95 mask that may be harder for some to breathe but they do work The cheap easy to breathe mask may be the problem why people still get covid with the masks on?
