Delayed Deposit of UK Gov. Pension to Wise Account
Thank you for the reply Moolover. Until the start of this year, 2025, I have always received both private pension and UK gov pension a few minutes before or after 8.30am UK time. So far this year I have received my January private pensions as normal but both January and February UK gov pensions have been delayed by a few hours. In January the UK gov pension turned up around 11.40am UK time and February payment finally arrived in Wise at 10.25am UK time. I do not think there is a major issue and waiting a couple of hours for the money to be available is not a 'game changer' but it just seems strange that it only affects UK gov pension and only started to happen at the start of this year. -

SCB Branch Near Chaengwattana with Early Opening Hours
Indeed @DrJack54, my wife did enter with Non-O originally and has extended since then for reason of dependent. I am of the same thinking that my wife should be allowed, however I am informed that this will all be "at the discretion of the Immigration Officer". So I am really hoping that there will be no problem for my wife to change her extension reason from dependent to retirement, even if they force me to exit the country to "reset" from my original Non-B. If we both leave, I just realized there will be nobody to watch the cat and will have to arrange pet hotel. As for doing a piggyback, even though we will each have reason by retirement extensions, I am not fussed keeping the separate THB800k financial requirements for both of us. And heaven forbid something happens to me, my spouse would be under no pressure to attend to immigration during a stressful time. Will be all prepped with paperwork so will give this a go in a couple weeks. Will report how it goes. Many thanks. -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
What about Americans that should pay tax? How will the Thai government differentiate between pensioners and those who should pay? It's by the Thai banks reporting, but they only see cash transfers, not the source of funds. Can you see this being an issue in the future? As I said, why don't we all just say our remittances are non assessable?. Close all these tax threads and forget about it. Ahhhh, but some members say the TRD haven't got the resources to audit every foreigner, and I agree, but what they can do is not grant an extension until an expat has a document from a TRD Office to proving the source of the remittances. -
