glegolo18
A friend claim that he bought a re entry permit to cover his existing 1 year Non Immigrant O-VISA when he went back to his home-country-again... Can this be true really?? I thought that Re entry permit only done with extension of stay. Happy if you can enlighten me. Thank you, glegolo
Popular Post Sophon
A re-entry permit can protect any permission to stay, no matter if that permission to stay was obtained on a visa entry or an extension.
Lite Beer
There is no 1 year Non Immigrant O-VISA. He probably has an extension of stay.

Your friend would have obtained a 90 day permission of stay. He can buy a reentry permit to protect that permit. Edit: whoops just reread your op. What does your friend actually have. You mention a one year non O. The visa of one year is a multiple entry visa. You need clarify what your friend has. Upnotover
Perhaps an O-A? In which case a permit is needed to leave and re-enter during the '2nd year'.

Then that's different. Now we know what he has. Referred to as ME Non O marriage. He does not require a reentry permit. The visa is valid for 12 months from issue. It allows 90 day stay every entry and that can be extended by 60 days to visit wife.
Geir Rasch
If you have an extension of stay based on a Non Immigrant O visa and want to leave the country without loosing your extension of stay, you need a re-entry permit. A one-time re-entry cost 1.000 bath, a multi re-entry cost 3.800 bath at immigration.

That's true however the OP,s friend has a one year multi entry non O marriage and does not require a reentry permit.

Until the last entry just as the visa is expiring, then a reentry permit could be useful.
