Why not, easy peasy, and will likely be gone soon anyhow.  If these idiots can't handle it how they going to do with a re-entry permit?

What re-entry permit? We used to only fill out an arrival/departure card on the flight back. Same for walking across a land boarded for a couple hours or a couple days visit.

Piphat stated that the proposal for the cancellation of the Thailand Pass registration for international arrivals to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) during its next meeting will attract more tourists, as they will no longer be required to purchase travel insurance or deal with complex entry procedures.

This will help more than anything, Philippines dropped the insurance this month. They are loosing billions of baht until they scrap Thai Pass.

People who 'live' here usually want to maintain their permission of stay, and that is how it is done. Visa Exempt (Tourist) entries are limited, particularly over land borders.
