What does "organic" mean in the context of cultivating cannabis? Does it mean not hydroponic? I'm asking because someone I know used hydroponic cannabis and developed severe schizophrenic behaviours.....

Surely organic means the same as it does for vegetables.... grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents.

There is already an oversupply of cannabis on the world market. In California it's only $1,000 a lb. Growing indoor is expensive here due to the heat. Current high prices will encourage farmers big and small to start growing. In the end I can't see how the indoor growers will be able to compete.

 

Indoor growing began to avoid detection and to enable year cultivation, especially in cooler climates. Companies may try to market indoor as better quality, but the difference over greenhouse grown would be negligible. I'm not aware of any other crop grown indoors. It's simply unnecessary and with time cannabis is likely to be field and greenhouse grown in poorer countries with cheap labour. There may (and should) be a backlash against unnecessary electricity use due to climate change.

 

This is Lesotho, a country with an ideal climate and plentiful cheap labour. It's cannabis industry is already well established.

Personally, i have another issue. I've already made two walk-in purchases for cash. Old habits die hard and even for the convenience of home delivery, I'm extremely reluctant to provide all my details for that convenience. So far..

Sure, you can grow it yourself and buy all the required equipment, soil, lights, nutrients and then wait 4-6 months for the first crop. As mentioned earlier, prices will drop with time. It has only been 10 days since everyone was taken by surprise, so once the supply chain has stabilized, the prices will drop.

I am sure the "schizophrenic behaviours" was not due to hydroponic growing. ????

Our products are grown in-doors, so that means there are no pesticides and we do not use any PGRs (plant growth regulators), so it is 100% organic. Many of the cheaper versions available are grown outdoors, which makes it a lot cheaper to grow, but also produces a much lower yield unless they use pesticides and PGRs.

Outdoor can give good yields. With the 6 plant rule outdoor is the future

and to post your price list with zero reduction up to 8 grams is just laughable!

 

if your price is 700 a g, why bother listing additional weights/prices??

3 grams for 2100

4 grams for 2800

5 grams for 3500

6 grams for 4200

7 grams for 4900

8 grams for 5600....

Are you sure there is a 6 plant rule for indoor growing - nothing in the Royal Gazette about so far? Just that you should not sell to people under 20.

 

Seems to be open house on how many you can grow at home currently, I guess the bill that is on it's second reading in parliament will address it.

 

 PrikPot is being very fair and honest with answering posts here......Some guys here need to relax and let up on him,......

 

I am a ex-smoker myself......But I do know people will pay and pay well for quality and people will pay and pay well for convenience.......Mix the 2 and you have a winner.........Hey there would be no  5 star restaurants if everyone only wanted cheap prices for meals......

Yeah, lot's of people don't understand the market dynamics, you obviously get it.

 

Thailand was already due a bumper high season when the covid restrictions were finally dropped.

 

Bring in legal weed and that puts the high season into overdrive.

 

Outdoor weed is not a patch on indoor weed and people are not coming here for average weed - they will want premium quality when on holiday and will happily pay for it.

 

There is Bob Hope, No Hope and and an Envelope that the Thai's will be able to produce enough quality indoor weed to service the demand this high season (sorry) so the price will rise as you say.

 

But they will catch up and flood the market with indoor weed around Q2 next year, it will be all downhill from there.

 

Interesting times.

I'm more of a fool for over priced exotic beers I suppose like Guinness or a nice 12% THC Imperial Stout. But alas, its illegal to sell those online since about two years ago supposedly because minors might order them we are told. Its interesting that it doesn't seem to matter if minors order ganja. I would say enjoy your mail order ganja while you can, someone in the government sponsored by the major brewing companies is bound to go on the war path against it soon enough if being unable to order beer online is anything to go by. Or did they recently relax about ordering alcohol? Nevermind, I suppose I can look it up myself.

Do you "use" a beer, or drink a beer? Kinda weird way of phrasing it.

 

Hydroponics is simply a way of providing nutrients to the roots - it does not directly affect the psychoactive properties of dried Cannabis, as far as I am aware.

 

Whereas indoor weed grown by a grower that knows what they are doing is way stronger than outdoor weed because indoor grow lights are currently capable of pushing out 20 times the usable light than the sun at max strength produces and hemp is one of a handful of plants capable of using that much light (many plants simply don't have the ability to do so).

 

It also depends on the strain of hemp grown, indoor types are generally strong than outdoor types.

 

Nothing to do with hydroponics or not hydroponics though, as far as I know.

yes and no. . i only know of at most a few dozen people tops who can grow quality here in thailand. These guys don't have big grows at all compared to what the market is going to demand. the rest of what will come onto the market in the next year will be amateur and near first time grows. all will be weak and not worth more than brick....but it will sell as the demand is there. thats the sad part.

 

most of the grows i have visited in thailand (dozens - both legal and underground) are brutal at best.
