Its too expensive I may leave
Drop everything and go find the cheaper places to live then adjust your expectations. Most of the country is poor and lively cheaply so you need to study what they're doing and take their lead. -

This web browser is the fastest ever used, it is lightning speed - Carbon web browser
As I said, I will keep an eye on this thread, and I am researching this browser also, but it just occurred to me, your biggest "like" of this browser is its speed, but you haven't mentioned what hardware, particularly what processor, and what speed of internet you are on. I am not using Carbon browser but my speeds are just as good, if not faster, on regular browsers, as you are getting on Carbon browser. Have you tried Carbon browser on a different network, with some speed tests of the internet connection? I ask because, you say Brave is slow, but if your hardware is old, and your internet connection is slow, Brave will not be slow for others. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
That is what I plan to do. The only problem is that a recent video from a Thai legal firm has indicated that unless one has a tax ID, they could be subject to criminal prosecution. Obviously, most of us would like to avoid that scenario. -

Kamala Harris Prosecutor Past Draws Scrutiny
Anyway, hopefully this will keep peoples' attention off her brewing plagiarism scandal. Apparently large portions of her book "Smart On Crime" were lifted directly from others without attribution, including direct copying from Wikipedia. Just like her boss... -

Pattaya Official Seeks Justice in Sea Urination Row
There are no public beaches without toilets in Thailand, if you do not go to remote islands. However, there you can find accommodation areas that have a toilet you can use. It might be a 100-200 meter walk to a toilet, but I guess most normally intelligent people can manage that. That just shows where Thailand stands regarding civilization and respect. -

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
I can't remember how many years I've been reclaiming WHT on interest from Thai banks but it's certainly goes back to at least 2012. The process for doing that was to obtain a letter from the bank, setting out the account holder details and ID, along with gross, net and tax paid amounts. The TRD office would complete the relevant parts of the tax return which I would sign, three week a later I'd receive a cheque or a deposit. Over the years since, TRD has automated the electronic interface so they are able to confirm the contents of the letter, via their system, in real time. Previously, that was verified centrally, or so I was led to believe. Electronic interface and automated or not, banks have been sending account details of people who had tax withheld, for at least a decade. I think you misinterpret this. IMO, the interest income data is only sent to the TRD for those who have already registered a TIN at their bank and are trying to reclaim the interest WHT. This represents a very small proportion of those foreigners with Thai bank accounts. For everyone ( tax residents and non tax residents) , the WHT is deducted automatically at 15%. In the minority cases ( like yours) , where the individual is a registered Thai tax filer and wants to reclaim the interest already deducted as part of an overall PIT filing, then the interest data is sent to TRD. Otherwise, it is not. Here's how one of the Thai banks describes it. https://www.krungsri.com/en/about-krungsri/about-us/overview/announce/exemption-tax-interest-savings-deposit If I have this straight then, it is not correct to state as below, because it isn't what typically occurs: "banks reporting details of accounts to TRD, from which they withheld the statutory 15% WHT on any interest earned. The latter already happens and has been happening for many many years." If I have this wrong, happy to be corrected! -

So I employed a Thai plumber ...
10k baht seems over the top. Had a blocked drain this year the usual resistance from the mrs to get qualified people in. After me, the BIL and a handyman had tried to fix it and several weeks later she eventually agreed to phone wortan plumbers up. Turned up on time, three blokes in uniforms with power snakes. Hour later all done 1500 baht, they even put a new u bend pipe in under the sink for no charge. -

Higher water pressure at night, so it always leaks after the plumber goes home. Had this happen back in the UK.
