i feel liberated. for weeks now i have not been wearing a mask outside and was feeling very awkward when putting it on for at a short time when going in places. 

 

now even putting it on feels awkward. 

 

i love no masks. 

Coming back to europe and no mask, I constantly Feel I forgot something when walking out the door, or going in to a shopping mall, or other crowded places.  But liberating yes, and really did not feel to much hassle with the mask while living in Thailand. 
 

Only mask when going somewhere outside village, or to enter hotels or restaurants and shopping malls. 

I feel lost without big daddy telling me I have to....I just dont know what to do.....I need to make my own decision and its haaaaaard...... Everyone is vaccinated now, so its not like everyone is getting Covid...they're vaccinated...right? People arent getting sick and having to take 10 days off work because the vaccines stop you getting it, you dont get sick right? Oh, its all so clear. I guess I dont need that mask afterall.....

 

But what about granny? 

I am sure now many of us won't wear a mask when we go outside.

And then, sometime later, when we want to enter a building or i.e. the BTS, maybe we have to wear a mask.

 

But I don't have my mask with me. Back to the nearest place where they sell masks...

 

It will take a long, long time for Thais to remove masks.

Just watch any snippet of a tv soap opera (that wifey watches), and you will see a person in a hospital bed. They love hospitals.

I haven't worn a mask for four months, but even now I check when I go out . 

Money . Tick

Travel card .Tick .

Keys . Tick .

Mask.................oh yeah, don't need one 

 

There's no law mandating shirt wearing either, any business that refuses my entry for not wearing one will not get my money

mask vs no mask - feeling naked vs feeling awkward? The only feeling that I have is:

 

'About bloody time too'.

Dunno, but in places like BTS, aeroplanes, etc.. It wouldn't hurt to keep them, no?

I'll keep wearing it. I can make all my stupid faces and breathe with my mouth open without people noticing, and people I know who I don't want to stop and talk to don't recognize me.

So today is second day of non-mandatory masks outside. Went to have a haircut and observed people on the way to barber and back. Except a couple of shop keepers that even previously didn't bother wearing them while sitting alone in shop, everyone else was masked up.

 

That was a surprise, actually, given how much complaining over wearing masks there was in the past... or maybe that was only in farang population on this forum?

I do not want my daughter to see masked faces all the time. I want her to see and analyze emotions in faces, smile and not live in a constant state of fear and feel all the coward-energy from the people around her.

These masked people are a bad role model for kids, especially because it shows them that common sense would be unnecessary. Cognitive and emotional impairment for kids not being able to see full faces is not only logical but also proven by studies as well, for all the people that need studies instead of simply using their own brain lol

Yesterday I saw a group of young school kids outside with their teachers taking a walk in the heat. All masked. On a remote island with no tourists.

The kids had dead eyes and no joy in life. They looked not like free kids, but like imprisoned robots.

It broke my heart to see that and gave me the last push to finally leave this country asap.

Even my Thai gf is ashamed of her people.

 

Europeans and Americans will not wear masks anymore in Thailand, because we learned to think for ourselves and do what we feel is right.

But sadly the Thais will never stop. Never ever. Even after the government is finally "allowing" them to take them down, they continue wearing them lol. Unbelievable. What a <deleted> country.

 

 

 

The thing is that for cultural reasons, none of them will ever want to swim against the tide. To me it's a matter of proportion: as soon as a significant number (maybe 30%) of people are not wearing it anymore, there will be a snowball effect. The average Thai needs to feel comfortable in doing it and it will happen through mimicry. But it will take a while initially as nobody wants to be the first person on the dance floor.

People everywhere in the world....once, twice....triple jabbed are still transmitting the virus AND getting symptoms. I know quite a few. I did not think this was even in question anymore....is it?? HA!!!

 

Took extra notice today after the recent announcement.

I did not see one Thai on a motorcycle not wearing a mask and there were a lot of them at one particular set of traffic lights. Quite a few not wearing helmets. 

 

One heavily tatooed foreigner riding in flip flops, singlet, no mask and no helmet.

I still wear a mask when I drive alone and even when in the toilet...

today i was denied entry to the plaza with mcdonalds near whittayu. security guard wouldn't let me in without mask. so i turned around and left. ill spend my money elsewhere. 

 

i wonder if mcdonalds would be happy knowing that the security guard cost them customer. was at a different mcd the other day and no mask no problem.

Your just in denial, so spend your money elsewhere.  I am sure your miniscule amount you would spend is of little concern to them and they feel safety is more important to their employees.  You'll never win with your performance.

Yep went up to Bangkok and kept having to go back and get my mask, in the village have been using when out and about for a while but becoming one of the few, very surprised outside on Bankok streets nearly all masked up yesterday and today

No fear anywhere in my post. You expect mask wearing to dissappear and everyone to be allowed into wherever, sorry my friend you need to do the research and see what is allowed and what is not by the lifting of the mandate.  Cry me a river when you are told mask or go. It's up to the business, the type of location and it is what it is. Read the Gazzette.

 noble, but unfortunately, mask wearing is more effective in not spreading the virus rather than not becoming infected.

no one isn't minority.  MILLIONS in Thailand are wearing a mask.  Tens of millions, likely.

 

Go to 7-11 and don't wear one, yell at them to "get over it."   Then do it at Tesco.
