Here is someone whose angry about many things, what about you ?

 

 

He is not the angry white man that scares me. He does not paint himself orange. This guy I would like to buy a few beers for.

He made some good points.  Reasonable points.  He's certainly not the typical "angry white man" who portray themselves as victims. 

It angers me that there are people in this world who now can hate a man like this based on his skin color and the fact he's a man - regardless of his personal and evident compassion for humanity.

So although I'm a descendant of European heritage as well as a biological male, I'm just sad.  I'm sad that so many people demand "tolerance" for their views and proclivities while hating others.  Really.  How many people in our current Western civilization detest those who are descendant of European heritage and those who are biological males who love biological women?

So no.  I'm not angry.  Just sad that people can not accept others for their humanity alone.  I find intolerant people to be sad, regardless of the targets of their intolerance. 

Unfortunately - that is the nature of the reality into which we were born.
However - I commend people such as this gentleman who is accepting of humankind for being human.  In between that, we can disagree with others and yet maintain respect for their concerns.

I'm an old white man who caught the clue that no one wants to hear what I'm angry about. Ever.

 

Cheery blokey bloke is the best I can aspire to. And even that, small doses at best.

I was angry when I was younger, I don't have time for it now.

Golf is a metaphor for life, no-one sees angry golfers winning tournaments. It's the ones who stay calm and focused that do.

He is not advocating the right of people to disagree on the concepts he's mentioned, quite the opposite.

 

Nobody hates heterosexual whites. They hate negative attitudes to those who aren't.

Surprised someone that old could be so woke!

This guy is the antithesis of an angry white man. The video should be required watching in schools as a prelude to critical thinking.

 

Just like him, I get angered by the bigots who coin terms like "woke" to attack people like this guy who are enlightened.

Are you playing the victim card because you are white? Is there a reason that people should take an interest in you? Have you frequently been the victim of racial abuse for no reason? Are you homeless on the streets or living in a tent? Are you in need of some empathy you are not receiving because of your situation in life?

Seems the most targeted minority in recent years is a older white male.

I think all of us white guys in Thailand have experienced racial abuse, some even violence.

Once in Hua Hin a couple of Thai guys jumped off their m/c to give me and my pal a beating.

But then they noticed (when we didn't run away) that we were a lot bigger and tougher than they were and ran off.

 

I get called 'Farang' on this forum all the time, and nobody seems to want to stop it.

I've never been accused of any of those things. I speak enough Thai that I would know. Similar sentiments are directed at foreigners by xenophobes in every country. This video attempts to combat that xenophobia.

No, the opposite. As a privileged white male, I'm saying I get it, I get it why these groups would prefer to see an empty bar stool instead of me sitting in it.

 

And as a privileged white male (and let's not forget over-educated and American too), it's fair that if I get all the good stuff, that somebody else should get all the sympathy.

 

These various groups want to be mostly among themselves, far away from me. It's a rare party in the African-American community where they're bummed out because they couldn't get enough old white guys to show up.

 

From me, they'd -at best- like me to send a check to their cause and then shut up.

I read lots of things on this forum that aren't true.

I agree with you about that word. I refuse to use it anymore. I think foreigner is more polite. At it's most innocent, farang means outsider, or "not one of us". That is a nasty way to refer to an ex-pat who supports your nation on countless levels. Farang is basically a neutral word (primarily meaning white, or caucasian), but people who respect you (or who should respect you) will not use it - if you hear a work colleague, for example, refer to you as farang they probably mean it as an insult while a taxi driver or market vendor doing the same is unlikely to mean any offense at all.

 

In Latin America, an ex-pat would never be referred to as an outsider. It is part and parcel of living in a very insular culture. I can deal with being called a farang, but I will bring it to the attention of some people, from time to time. 

 

 

It angers me that now it's impossible to not see one day of news without gender this and gender that "news". Is that really so important? How many people are affected by this? 1% Maybe 3%?

Imagine all those activists and politicians would use all that time for important things like how to make life better for all of us and not just the 1% who shout loudest?

Old white men (like me) are NEVER targeted because they are old or because they are white. They are labelled "angry old white men" when they express intolerant views. It's also a statistical fact that the people most like to express intolerant views are old and white. You only need to watch Fox news for confirmation.
