Pattaya City just kicked off another set of new roadwork on Sukhumvit Road that ranged from Soi Phothisan to Khlong Naklua and warned drivers to avoid the track and area if possible.

The new roadwork is one of several ongoing projects across Pattaya to build a new drainage network to deter flooding.

The first phase of this roadwork runs from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation’s entrance to Soi Phothisan, or approximately 90 meters. Two lanes adjacent to a traffic island on Sukhumvit Rd have also been blocked as seen in the picture below.

I noticed work on Sukhumvit North of town the other day, likely this mess. I am gobsmacked....   An alternative route is only possible on the Railway Line Bypass, which, yes you guessed it, is being dug up on the Southbound side, and has been for over a year for some damned drainage project. It is a coin flip whether you can get through or will be diverted off into the backroads all around the houses. These folks are idiots!

Complete waste of money as every drainage scheme to date has failed miserably as we have recently seen.

And  what drains there are ,  are usually covered  in garbage that has just been thrown, which doesnt help the rain water to drain away

Thepprasit still being dug up, the area by the school in South Pattaya has been a huge hole for at least two years, Second Road is being dug up, the railway line bypass has been dug up in places for several years, and now they're starting in North Pattaya. Why can't these clowns finish one project before they start the next?
