Sanook Thai Caption: Turtle set to bring riches

The appearance of a lost turtle at a grocer's in Phetchabun province in north-central Thailand could be the answer to the winning lottery number in the next draw on Saturday July 16th, reported Sanook.

The media - never one to miss a lottery trick - hotfooted it to the shop owned by councillor Kittisak, 41, who had posted about the turtle's appearance in Nai Muang on Facebook.

Netizens were sure this could mean only one thing - a sign from above. They were asking Kittisak how old he was and what his shop number was - he said it was 7-11.

Kittisak explained that the turtle, about hand sized, had passed several shops and chose his.

A customer had shrieked: "Oooh, there's a turtle!" and he had put it in a bucket.

He'd release it soon at a temple pond nearby where it appeared to have come from.

He said he was not a great player of the lottery but luck depended on the individual.
