Talk about living in the past. I've got news for you. Your taunt is outdated. They've found the cash.

Why do want the UK to re-join the E.U then ?

  • This is what 'we' voted for. This is what 'we' wanted. No point in getting upset, then.

  • UK citizens can now only stay in EU countries for 90 days in a 180 day period. So EU immigration has to check each passport to see how many days left. Plus passports must be valid for at least 6 month

Well yes, the Germans did try and stop Brits entering France in 1944

And this time they're succeeding.

We did, but we prefer freedom to do what we want and not what others want, but, perhaps you have always been controlled by others, eh..  ????

Yes, the freedoms to be poorer and queue for hours at Passport Control are precious indeed and should be cherished....

Your missing a crucial noun or pronoun.

Of course you will, missing all that lovely UK cash that you will have to find....????

Actually, the people who will be missing that lovely cash are, among others, the people of Wales. Who were promised that cash from the EU would be replaced by the govt. Now it turns out that the replacement won't be complete until 2045.

Being controlled by outside decision makers.

Well, you’ve obviously missed a few details about the EU decision-making processes, but in the EU decisions are being made by the Member States, including the UK when it was still in.

Yes, too bad you won't have any either now that you've lost easy and free access to hundreds of millions of consumers. But I guess those amazing trade deals with Guatemala and Niger and.....other places will more than compensate!

That's lefty rubbish, and a PP queue is of no importance to me, as we have all been in one at one time or another.

Brexit is done, get over it, and don't go to France by car...????

How do you know that they aren't using drones already?  It's still 150 kilometers of coastline. Can drones be constantly watching all of it.

The French Navy seem to be able to watch it all

Yes, I know, and we have been through Brexit stuff a zillion times.

Stop smarting over the loss of UK cash, plus if you like being controlled by others, great.   ????

30 minutes ago, Mac Mickmanus said:

That is not true .

Liz Truss suggested that dogs could be used to spot and stop drones being used to take contraband into UK prisons , train prison  guard dogs to bark when they see drones flying into UK jails , is what she said

This is what she said.

It's funny. The EU country that Brexiters seem most fond of is Hungary, which on a per capita basis is the biggest receiver of EU cash.

What is that based on ?

I don't ever recall Hungary being mentioned by anyone and I need to actually check to see whether they are members of the E.U.

What are you basing your claim on ?

Economic effects of Brexit

"In October 2021, the UK government’s Office of Budget Responsibility calculated that Brexit would cost 4% of GDP per annum over the long term.[49] 4% of 2021 UK GDP is the equivalent of a £32bn cost per annum to the UK taxpayer.[50] After rebates, the UK’s EU membership fee in 2018 was £13.2bn.[51]"

But I'm sure your unlimited "freedoms" will more than compensate for this.....:coffee1:

Let’s cut the pretense that this is somehow an unexpected outcome that needs any explanation beyond ‘Brexit’.

The impact of Brexit on cross channel traffic was widely predicted (refer your ‘Project Fear’ files).

The British Government knew it was going to happen, they built massive lorry parks near the ports in readiness for the delays they knew Brexit would cause.

Nor are these delays and jams new, they’ve been happening daily since Brexit, they are in the news now because of the scale of the problem over a couple of days, but they are now routine in cross channel traffic.

The bill for this Brexit created costs and delays is being paid by the UK economy.

 And it gets worse.

The UK have not yet implemented the border controls that Brexit necessitates.

There is absolutely no reason why any EU nation needs to check goods arriving at their own borders if those goods are destined to be shipped directly to the UK.  (Their duty to do so was removed with Brexit).

By example, a container can arrive from anywhere in the world at a French port, then be put on a lorry without being checked and trucked across The channel to the UK, where it won’t be checked.

No taxes and duties being collected, no safety/security checks.

The UK got its borders back, then immediately lost control of them.

Point being that France isn't making any effort to stop the people travelling across .

You was claiming that it wasn't possible for France to stop them, I was showing that France isn't even trying to stop them

I maintain that leaving the EU was an idiotic move by the UK, I have not called any individual an idiot so do try to calm down.

Sheeeesh, if you're that easily riled what will happen when you're forced to sit for hours in a passport line?

But you are effectively calling a majority group of British voters idiots, which is about 17 million times worse. Sheesh....lol.... I'm not riled, I just think that your regular insults should be highlighted...regularly.

And both statements can be true;

1. "It's not humanly possible to stop them all." This is obvious given the length of the French coast line

2. "France isn't even trying to stop them." On a scale of 1 to 10 I don't know how hard the french are trying. probably not very hard. As I've said before; they're geniuses.

From one of my earlier posts:

"So instead of spending resources on chasing and arresting them they let them set of to the UK, the same place that recently gave them (and the rest of the EU) the finger. I tell you, the French are geniuses. Vive la France!????"

If there was a Russian Nuclear submarine sailing in French waters , would the French navy be able to do anything to stop them ?

Why on earth should France stop them?

France has no such obligation.

Doing something that's idiotic doesn't necessarily mean you're an idiot. I thought that was clear to all but I see you're particularly sensitive.

Might it be because many Brexiteers deep down start to realize that Brexit was a huge mistake?

I have a few Brit friends and acquaintances and of those who voted to leave one has completely turned around and said it was a mistake while the rest are much more subdued on the subject and don't really want to talk about it. Makes you wonder.

Which would be money effectively from the UK in any case, like all the other money distributed by the EU, who don't really have any of their own. Just another EU tactic encourage the break up our union, which is what the EU wanted ultimately, and yet another solid reason to leave.
