Headphones play music fine but cut out intermittently on VOIPStunt calls. VOIP/Sounds in windows are configured for the Logitech 350 USB headset.

Should I use the high speed USB ports, or will any do? Any converter available in Thailand for USB to jack plugs (separate mike & headphone lines) so I can plug them in the old-fashioned way?

No driver with these phones, so windows has to pick them up, and doesn't seem to do a good job. Sometimes get error message that they're not detected on plugging in to USB. Didn't find anything on Logitech's website to help. Thanks for any feedback.

I've seen a little USB sound card, about the same size as a memory stick, plug regular headphones in, IIRC it was a few 00 Baht. Obviously I didn't buy it, but I've seen several different versions.

Are you running your headset through a hub? Try it direct. Should be no need for high speed ports.

I plug the USB headset directly in to one of the 4 USB ports on a nearly-new laptop. Doesn't seem to make a difference which one. The basic problem seems to be a degree of incompatibility between the headphones / built-in sound card / VOIPStunt. All different manufacturers hoping their products will work with other applications; sadly they do not always.
