Scott
American actress Nichelle Nichols, best known for her role in 1960s sci-fi TV series Star Trek, has died aged 89. Ms Nichols broke barriers in her role as Lieutenant Uhura in the series, becoming one of the first black actresses in the US to play a figure in authority. She was later employed by Nasa in an effort to encourage more women and African-Americans to become astronauts. She died of natural causes on Saturday night, her son Kyle Johnson said. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-62373143
Popular Post Bluespunk
Very sad news. Sometimes I forget just how much impact Nichelle Nichols had as an actor and NASA ambassador. RIP Edited August 1, 2022 by Bluespunk 2

John Drake
Only two of the original bridge crew left (Chekov came a season into the show) and they both hate each other.

I read up a bit about that, and it seems that while one hates the other, the other just didn't care much about minor cast members, so it's possible the hate is one sided. I would hardly consider a glorified telephone exchange operator as a 'figure of authority'.
