It was moderately bunny  40 years ago but there is better stuff around now

The best part of great humour is it’s easy familiarity.  You might think that 2022 humour is better, and in thirty years’ time there will be no-one that argues with you but know-nowts who have not even been born yet

Humour  does not age well. We all have our favourite  memories but if you look at steptoe and son now you will find it depressing not funny,  same hancock...sad.

Yeah, it was quite funny watching Steptoe when you were younger , but when you now kind of look like him a bit, its no so funny anymore

They had a painfully  depressing life which we didn't  notice then but it's just depressing to try and watch it.

It was comedy, it wasn't real life

It was a reflection  of real  life like all comedy- it was 'tragicomedy' but now 50 years later its just embarrassing rubbish to watch it again. THAT IS  WHY THEY  NEVER REPEAT  IT.  Nobody could bear to see it.

Back in the day, we could identify with comic characters portraying the poorest members of our society, who were part of a fading way of life.  Maybe, back in the day, old people didn't find Steptoe and Son as funny as their children and grandchildren did - not least because they did not have televisions.
Top greenness, with the emphasis on reuse and recycling, by the way.
Steptoe and Son, and the Wombles.

You mean, better stuff that suits you, perhaps now easier to understand..................????

No. Better stuff-

Cultural  things changes...too 1930s silent movie  slapstick   is  not good , mainly not funny we have all  progressed NOBODY  Finds Steptoe  and son funny anymore. Because it's not funny now

Humour  does not age . Try showing todays kids stuff we  liked.

But the real  issue is how  wokeism has killed off comedy creating rubbish TV series and a  pathetic  Edinburgh  festival. But there are some  great comedy  teams doing great funny work.

Because  they are  funny they are  called 'Right Wing Comedians'
