Bail?!? This dangerous piece of ???? should never have seen light of day again. Should be fast tracked to end of life, but T.I.T. to the max.

The law in this 3rd world country is a complete farce. Thailand will never join the civilized world with pathetic people in charge of the justice system. They should all resign immediately

Yeterday, the headlines in ASEAN NOW reported over woman who would be sentenced to 50,000 years in jail because she accepted to receive a packadge with drugs.

Today, the headlines in ASEAN NOW are reporting that an a.. hol. who lynched 2 people in front of their children is released on 500,000 baht bail.

This is Thailand .............

Bail for a murders?  How about farangs who pick up sea cucumbers?
Well, we can see which is determined to be the most heinous crime.

If she believes in the judicial system here, either she is wealthy, has never brought a case to court, or is very naive. Belief does not make it so. 

 

What a bizarre and convoluted case. Wonder if even a competent judge can sort it out. Bizarre behavior. Are we beyond just discussing an issue, and working it out? Where is the civility?

That would signify an admission of incompetence, and demonstrate a sense of humility. Not gonna happen. There seems to be something inherent within this culture, that encourages a willingness to deny, obfuscate, and refuse to take responsibility.

If I were the 8 year old daughter, who sadly witnessed her parents being knifed to death -something she will never never forget - I would be waiting for the murderer to be set free, then either kill him myself or pay someone to do it.  Justice needs to be served!

Why wait for him to be freed, it can, and is done inside the prison for a small fee.

However, I can see your logic. Firstly make him suffer through a prison sentence.

Police opposed bail but he still gets it! 

Under the circumstances I can't see his lawyer putting forward that good an argument for granting bail.

Maybe the police are being a bit cute,  they take the brown envelope, bung the judge or magistrate with a heads up that for the sake of appearances they are going to oppose bail but 'wink, wink' he still gets it!

That's why I always ask for a very very short haircut.

I'm not condoning what he did but, regardless of what happened, or how much you don't understand the concept, he's still innocent until proven guilty so bail is his right if he meets the requirements.

The million baht that the wife had in cash for his bail should have been confiscated and given to the young girl who witnessed her parents being murdered ????

It is really incredible how rich people here can literally buy their freedom. The guy killed two people, there are witnesses, he confessed, and still he gets bail. Unbelievable. Next thing we hear he will be in Dubai.
Old lady gets 15 years in prison for picking mushrooms in a national park (or something like that, correct me if I’m wrong), but when you kill two people you just pony up 500,000 baht and walk out of jail, presumably never to be seen again. What a joke the judicial system in Thailand is.

     Yes, I understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty.  I also understand the concept of, in the immortal words of Warner Wolf, "Let's Go to the Videotape."   In decisions on granting bail, a court is primarily determining two things:  whether a defendant will appear at trial and whether he or she poses a danger to society.   Supposedly the defendant is rich and could be a flight risk.  The videotape of the 'alleged' brutal murders over a haircut complaint clearly shows he could be a danger to society.

    A Thai court is suppose to weigh, among other things, the gravity of the charge and the existence of evidence in determining whether bail is granted.  I think in cases such as this, where there is actual videotape of the crime, and the crime is especially brutal, bail should not have been given.   

Tomorrow's customers won't be complaining. Or the staff. 

Insead to Jail and execute this Psycho, he' s on Bail now ....I'm speachless????????????
