The elder sister of a first year college student went to the Bang Bua Thong police after inaction concerning an alleged attempted rape.

Sunantha, 24, had CCTV footage from a condominium in the area on August 19th.

The footage can be viewed here after it was published by Sanook.

It shows a repairman enter the lift with her sister named only as "Ying" aged 18.

He seems to aim a playful punch at the younger lady before following with her to her room and taking her arm.

It is alleged that thereafter he tried to rape Ying after dragging her into the room. She was only saved by the intervention of a male friend who arrived, reported Sanook

Sunantha was concerned that the case was going nowhere and that the condo repairman was still in his job.

The alleged assailant was named as a 30-35 year old man called Thitiwat.

Ying had contacted him to open a door after she had forgotten her keycard, the man had gone with her in the lift to her room in Building B on the eighth floor.

I’m not saying it might not have happened.  But the facts are kind of strange.
This is a serious issue.  So the person went to the police.  Instead of immediately contacting the police to arrive on scene.  And / or going to the juristic immediately to report it.  Then juristic can contact police and possibly detain the employee.
If the employee actually did do it.  He knows there are cameras all over the building and in the elevators.

Rooster

Exactly, well said. I know of a girl from the UK who kept a rape by 2 lads quiet for 30 years.

Then this is another reminder that they shouldn't stay quiet.

Scream as loud as you can when someone tries to attack you. Rip his eyes out. Use your nails to scratch his face into a bloody mess. Kick him where it hurts.

This has at least three huge advantages:

A) There is a good chance that the attacker will run away and stop the attack.

B) An attacker with a bloody face will have huge difficulties to argue that the woman agreed. She clearly didn't want to be raped.

C) Guys with bloody faces stand out. People ask: What did he do to look like that.

And just for the people who like to say that I blame the victims - there are many of them in this forum:

Nobody should be attacked or raped. But it happens. This world is not perfect, and it will never be perfect. And when it actually happens then it is obviously a good idea for the victim to at least try to prevent the worst. Shout! Scream! Use your nails!
