Recommendations for Pulmonary or COPD specialist in Bangkok

After years of being highly active, but smoking, its like something broke. I suspect I may also have had asymptomatic COVID.

Since, have had multiple flare ups in the last couple months that leave me gasping.

Is there anyone in Bkk who stands out for COPD diagnosis and management?

I have had a treatment suggested via a doctor a Bumrungrad (which is next door) but it seems ineffective.

Sorry..not a bkk resident but curious to know as I have been struggling for 2 yrs now with no clear diagnosis

Did you have covid?

Do symptoms recede for months and then return?

Clear x-rays and cardio system looks normal?

Vitamin C levels take a hit with covid, which is one reason doctors have been prescribing some.  But smoking a cigarette costs vitamin C as well, so you may already be behind the curve on this one.  It couldn't hurt to try taking some.  Personally, I like a B-complex anytime I'm sick--it seems to be more effective for me than the vit. C.  It all depends on what the body needs most at the time.

Why would I need to do that?

He was referring to a Thai government hospital. All signs, forms etc in Thai, confusing bureaucratic  steps/procedures, and no English speaking by the clerks and nurses. It can be very difficult to navigate the system without  Thai speaker along at least the first time.

If you go to Bumrungrad or other "international" private hospital then obviously no need to have a Thai speaker with you.

- US trained and US board certified. Worked in US for some 28 years and held a Professorship at a US medical school

-Areas of specific specializiation include COPD

-Has published in international peer reviewed journals
