Popular Post webfact
File photo By Online Reporter A new feature has been added to Google Maps that enables drivers of electric vehicles to easily find EV charging stations. Motorists simply need to launch the app and search for EV charging stations which will bring up a list and map of nearby chargers. Alternatively, they can go to More > Services > Electric vehicle charging It will then display the location of the charging station, the number of charging stations available at the location and the different types of charging stations. The power rating is also displayed which allows drivers to pick a fast or slow charging option. Popular Post Gold Star
Wow... I see the nearest one is now only 180 kms south from here in Chiang Rai. Clearly this energy transition is not going so well as we are led to believe.

Those not having an EV,, well, you might as well just use the Swenson's ice cream site ... great ice cream. Purdey
Not sure how it works when there are relatively few charging stations around the country. When a petrol engine car runs out of fuel we can walk or hitch a kilometer or two to the next petrol station and fill a can. What happens when an EV runs out? Push the car? Have it towed? JBChiangRai
Google Maps takes some time to be updated, we have 2 EV’s and a 3rd on order. My daughter just drove from our home in Chiang Rai to our Chiang Mai home and used 43% of her battery in her MG EP+ which for a limited time is still available at 771,000 baht…an absolute bargain (the government pay a substantial part of the cost on the first 6,000 MG BEV’s sold this year). I have a somewhat more expensive BEV with a range of 510km. I know of at least 1 charger at a coffee shop on the way to CM, they are being added weekly and often they are completely free to use.

There are hundreds of EV charging stations operated by a dozen or so network operators. MG alone has at least one fast DC charger every 150km in Thailand. Charging is not a problem anymore. For sure the network will need vast expansion as BEV’s become mainstream, but it is coming and the outlet’s are fairly standard, unless you drive an imported Tesla then you no doubt have the adaptor you need to use everyone else's network. CP & PTT are going to put them at their gas stations and 7/11 stores.

rovinman
It's ALWAYS amazed me, that EV Charging stations are located separately from regular petrol stations ! They SHOULD be located at exactly the same place ! Seems obvious to me that if you need service, then you go to a service station. In fact the Petrol companies should set various ones up, on their forecourts that will shortly be empty, which of course they won't be, (until 2035 ?). Then we will still have the eateries, that we are getting more and more !

I expect currently no incentive.

Do people over the age of 20 actually still run out of petrol. Must be the same folks that planned their retirement so good in TH and had to return after a couple years. If you can't find a CS, you're not looking very hard.
KhunLA
Better research = Better life experiences No plan = Plan to fail ... your choice If you drive around with a can to put petrol in you ICE, then you may want to invest in a solar power station, then again, why bother, as you'd probably forget to charge it up before leaving anyway Just can't fix stupid ... ????
