Jomtien kids playground shut, waiting for future repairs to badly damaged area

Jomtien-The kids playground located across from the Jomtien Night Market has been shut with a large notice from law enforcement in Thai stating that the park is waiting for future repairs.

 

Regular complaints about the condition of the playground, which has an Angry Birds theme, have come in since during the Covid pandemic shutdowns but the park appears to have been getting worse versus improve, especially the ground condition.

Looks in better condition than most of the public parks in Bangkok unfortunately.

I would sometimes enter this playground  to use the exercise equipment therein .    It would be better if the Childrens Play Area was completely separate from the adult exercise area .

The current "Play/Exercise" area is subject to misuse with people sleeping rough on the benches ,  stray dogs doing a poo inside ( where children are supposed to play !!)  .

No policing / control  / inspection so the deterioration has lead to the current situation .

yes i was there yesterday took the family to the coast for a few days .. normally we set up on the beach near this play ground 

.not at its best im afraid but must admit no worse than many in the Uk or France where i used to take the kids ..one thing you pointed out that needs resolving are the Bloody dogs that get in there no-one does sod all about them even the cops walking past ...Just walk on ...

Not the government priority! 

The only reason there is one to try to show they care with the amount of foreigners there but outside of Jomtien this one and they can't even up keep the one. 

Plenty of money to put in drains over and over again or to widen beach road over and over to enrich themselves when it comes to their future and their own?

Yes about 10-15 kids at least.

They need fix that up pronto. The night market and playground is a huge draw for tourists and one of the best places in town. When I went there in the summer, I noticed it had quite a few problems.

As of today, the entrance gate to the playground is still SHUT .     It seems many children and some adults are simply climbing over to gain access .    Another case of no policing .
