Udon: Shabu diners scatter in fear as man attacked by mob - broken toy gun found at scene

Daily News reported that diners at the Shabu Indy restaurant on Suphakijjanya Road in downtown Udon Thani, NE Thailand, ran for their lives as a shot was fired. 

 

They were not to know but it came from a toy cap gun that was found shattered at the scene.

Muang district police and rescue services found 25 year old local man Kornwit with a head injury and multiple bruises. He was taken to hospital.

 

A staffer at the restaurant said that the trouble happened outside when 7-8 young people turned up.

Six tables had diners at the time and they made a dash for cover fearing they would be caught in crossfire as a single shot rang out. 

 

The assailants who attacked the victim en masse fled on bikes.

He said that violence occurred in the area frequently due to the number of pubs there. It's an area that leads up to the Charoen Sri Park shopping center. 

 

The violence is thought to involve a problem the victim had with a woman.

 

Police are studying CCTV and interviewing witnesses to get to the bottom of it.
