Siam Rath reported that the Kamphaeng Saen police in Nakhon Pathom, central Thailand, were alerted to an accident in Huay Khwang sub-district where a pick up had overturned at a bend.

There was a three kilometer tailback.

At the scene of the accident a red plate Ratchaburi registered pick-up was on its side over two lanes in the road.

Scattered about was more than two tons of chicken that cost 300,000 baht.

Neungrithai, the 54 year old driver of the stricken pick-up said she had gone to get the chicken in Suphanburi and was on her way back to Ratchaburi.

There was rain and the road was slippery, she recounted, before she lost control and hit the kerb.

Police and members of the public helped clear the road that was fully open again at 6.30 pm.

An hour after the first report of the incident.

The lady driver is being interviewed again by the police.

Why did the chicken cross the road ???

..... 'cos the driver was a speeding idiot !!!!

What a peck-uliar scene, this driver must have been having an eggs-istential crisis.... they’ll be working all hours of the cluck to clean that mess up... :whistling:

Exactly. What is the relevance to the article? Like saying a vehicle with wheels.

And that the 1 Ton overload was probably well above the center of gravity.

Killing and eating animals is disgusting.

2 Tonne of chicken in a ute rated for 900kg or so. That vehicle was probably skating all over the place. I'm sure that the RTP muppets have it all figured out.

The deceased fowl were Road Island Reds.....

How long of a drive was that? What was the temperature outside?  And I'm sure they weren't chilled before loading.  How many hours has it been since those chickens were slaughtered?   Nasty.

It would have been normal in USA to say where the chickens came from and the capacity of the truck probably would have been  stated.

Kerb?  Really

Kerb?  Really

The chickens start to develop poisonous bacteria inside after a few hours,  Campylobacter,  Clostridium botulinum, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella and Bacillus cereus and Botulism.....

They will be deep fried tomorrow most likely.

If you're in Thailand then see how much support you get with that belief from the local population.

Unlikely. Ka-ching!

First thought.

Even without the crash, transporting unrefrigerated chicken 3-4 hours in the heat of Thailand is asking for the runs if not Salmonella poisoning.

They were already dead by the looks of the photo.

So TWO TONS loaded onto a pick-up had nothing to do with it?

Being new it might discount brake failure.
